(7 a.m. AEST) -- Cruise Critic's Australia Editors' Picks 2017 have been revealed today, with Pacific Explorer winning the top award for "Best New Ship". Although not a newly built ship, Pacific Explorer was transformed when it joined the P&O fleet this year.
Royal Caribbean scoops three awards for "Best Entertainment", "Best Cabins" and "Best for Families", and Princess Cruises wins "Best Dining" and "Best Shore Excursions". Carnival Cruise Line is recognised for "Best Service" and "Best Value", Pacific Dawn for "Best Ship Refurbishment" and Celebrity Cruises is "Best For Romance".
Seabourn picks up "Best Luxury Cruise Line", while Uniworld Boutique River Cruise Collection is the surprise winner for "Best River Cruise Line".
The second annual Australia Editors' Picks -- selected by Cruise Critic's editors and writers -- celebrates excellence in cruise travel and features a host of categories in ocean and river cruising.
