We decided to have a family cruise with our grandchildren and this cruise fitted our guidelines the best. The two youngest grandchildren love Kids Club and the older teenagers enjoyed the entertainment, pools, quizzes, shows, etc. All were kept entertained throughout the cruise. We enjoyed the Ports of Call and even though our itinerary was changed because of the cyclone, the alternate port Mare was a very good substitute - a beautiful island. In the end we only missed Savu Savu and were able to see two ports in Fiji.

All in all the trip was very enjoyable, the staff friendly, helpful, and always had a smile whatever their particular task. Embarkation and disembarkation were well run and did not take up too much time so we were able to start our holiday straight away. The ship had plenty of areas for entertainment, a peaceful meditation, food and more food, and facilities. Children and adults were taken into consideration with some areas being Adults Only for those not travelling with children.

And yes we would cruise on Ruby Princess again.

Cabin Review

Balcony

Clean and comfortable. Except - there were three adults sharing this cabin. The third bed was stored in the ceiling and when set up was not so good. The ladder could only be positioned in the access hall to the bathroom and was a safety issue trying to get past at night. Trying to access the bed once up the ladder was difficult as the cavity left by the bed made grown men struggle to navigate. The bed was also not long enough for my husband and son and the two ends were open making it difficult to keep the pillow on the bed. A strange noise that my husband described as a giant mosquito also was not conducive the sleep. This noise became even more high pitched and loud if anyone opened the balcony door whether or not the bed was out or stored. My husband and son resorted to sleeping on the floor. We did not discuss this with cabin steward nor customer services as when first mentioned to customer services we were told we should have known. This incident did not spoil our trip overall but thought it was worth mentioning. The staff, service and overall trip was really enjoyable and we would definitely sail with Princess again. We travelled with our other son and his family and the ship entertained them all.
