There are a few reasons for this rating and it started the first few minutes we boarded. One of the perks for selecting concierge class was the embarkation sit down lunch in the Cosmopolitan Restaurant. Our boarding passes indicated a boarding time of 1PM. We arrived just before, but when we went to the Cosmopolitan, the maître d' was very blunt and told us that lunch was no longer being served. In not so many words he told us to go to the buffet where everyone else had gone to lunch, stand in long lines and, if we were lucky, find a table for six. Guest relations offered us no other choice. Later we were comped for lunch at Le Grand Bistro which turned out to be one of the trip's highlights.
Entertainment failed to exceed mediocre. The crew's cast, as always, was underwhelming. The comedians, as always, were very good. The best comedian has always been the last one. There was also a talented magician and singer (A finalist on one of those American Idol kinds of shows). He had a very good voice and personality, but I'm not a fan of the "wall of noise" so when they started to blast Motown, I had to leave. For some unknown reason most of the audience seemed to enjoy it.
I headed for the Martini Bar that, on other Celebrity ships is rectangular, ice covered, with room for a couple of dozen at the bar and another forty or so in the immediate area just above the Grand Plaza. On the Edge the Martini Bar is a half circle with no ice and located on the Grand Plaza, able to accommodate about a dozen drinkers, if there were enough stools. On our trip there were three stools where there was room for seven or eight. It is so poorly designed that only half the bar can accommodate stools while the other half has four or five lounge style seats abutting the bar. It was a major disappointment. I think it's Celebrity's way to make sure their patrons can not take full advantage of their beverage packages.
Very nice and very roomy when doors to veranda are left open and glass raised. Closet is small but there are small shelves and drawers everywhere. Plenty of room under bed for suitcases or stowaway.
Loved the Riverwalk district.
