Where to begin. Our family of 20 went from December 23-30 for Christmas. The port was fast (although the cops outside directing traffic were rude but oh well) and got us through easily with no problems. We got on the boat around 11:30 and our rooms were ready by 1pm with most everyone’s bags there for us. Our rooms were spacious and the balcony was roomy and nice. The ship itself is nice but that might be where the pros end.

If you wanted to do most of the shows you needed to book ahead of time aka before you even got on the ship which is annoying because a lot of the time on vacation you just want to go with the flow and not worry about rushing to make a reservation. It should be first come first serve. You don’t know what you are going to want to do day-to-day until that time. There were some opportunities where things were not booked ahead of time for you to just show up but that was rare not to mention that the shows were mediocre. The comedians were the same all freaking week so there was no variety there but it didn’t matter since we could only book one time since it was so hard to get reservations for anything anyway. Night life was THE WORST aside from a couple fun adult game shows but they were over by midnight at the latest. There was almost nothing to do except go to the casino which is fun a couple of nights but not every night. The club on Carnival was packed and fun every night but on RC, where's the club even at??We were with a couple of smokers and there were only two designated smoking areas – the casino which is good if you like casinos and enjoy smelling like an ashtray for the rest of the night or on the side of the ship near the pool which would be fine if the bar right there didn’t close at 10pm. If you are going to force smokers to a tiny area where they are secluded, at least have the bar open until 2am. I understand a lot of people don't smoke and don't like to be around it but they made smokers feel unwanted. Both should be respected equally.

The food was just ok. Some nights at the formal dining room was really good but other nights it left something to be desired although the staff was very friendly and attentive every night. The Solarium food was amazing (and a great hangout place for adults … who don’t smoke) and the Windjammer buffet was not that great and only used if it was too late to go to your formal dining location. Sorrento’s pizza was the best and open until 3am so that was a bonus as far as food goes. There were WAY too many restaurants that you have to pay for. You already paid so much for the cruise, all the food should be included or maybe have 1 or 2 that have a small upcharge but some were $95 a person … no thank you. No way the food is worth it.

Cabin Review

Ocean View Balcony

The cabin was roomy with a lot of storage and the balcony was great. The bed however was really hard and uncomfortable. Luckily we were always super tired from the day and passed right now so we didn't have to deal with it for that long.

Port Reviews

St. Maarten

We had an excellent tour guide on a speed boat. We stopped at a few different beaches and could snorkel or just swim around or relax on the beach. It was nice to see the island.

San Juan

San Juan was really nice and we enjoyed walking around and shopping. It would have been nice to stay longer than 6 hours.
