We sailed on the Norwegian Bliss on her maiden voyage in 2018 from Southampton, UK to New York. It was a fabulous experience. We were excited to sail her again for Alaska, but it ended up being quite a disappointment.
We are frequent cruisers, and have sailed pretty much every other line out there. We have never felt so nickeled and dimed as we did on NCL. The gratuities are the highest in the ...
My wife and I are experienced cruisers. First cruise with NCL on a 14 day Cruise from Vancouver to Alaska return. The entertainment was excellent. The food quality in the Garden Buffet was very good. We went to the dining room on three occasions and found the food was below standard from what other cruise lines offer. The onion soup being served was poor. The salad was over dressed with salad ...
My cruise isn’t over yet but I know this will be my last NCL cruise. I’ll try to be as objective as I can.
Pros:
- Newer ship.
- Embarkation process was easy.
- The Starbucks staffs are very friendly, efficient. Even when there’s a line it moves quickly.
- The A-List bar outside of Los Lobos specialty dining was great. Spicy margaritas only served there and was excellent.
- The ...
This cruise was a gift for my wife and me for our 20th anniversary of being Pastor of First Apostolic Church. Someone knew that we had always wanted to go on an Alaskan cruise but just couldn't afford it. So, that's how we chose the Alaskan cruise.
We were on the Norwegian Encore, which, I believe, is the largest ship in the Norwegian fleet. It was extremely luxurious in every fashion: from ...
First off, we have gone on Norwegian twice before and both times were great. Out of the 10 cruises we have been on, this was by far the worst. It was evident that Norwegian has cut costs in many areas and the quality of the food/shows has really suffered. The ship also seemed to be short staffed, which made the service very poor as well.
- Boarding: Very fast, the one positive about the ...
If you are considering Norwegian Bliss or any other NCL ship I suggest you run away. Book any other cruise line other than them. They completely ruined our honeymoon. The first 2 days they sailed into a storm- this wasn’t a regular storm this was 30 foot waves which caused the entire ship to have to stay in our rooms. (They knew about the storm despite claiming they didn’t. - my husband’s co ...
Many thanks to the hard working crew of the Bliss. If you are a first time cruiser or Alaskan cruiser this is not the cruise for you. We usually cruise Alaska annually and have cruised with HA, Princess, RCCL, and several Celebrity. This was our 10th Alaskan cruise. We have cruised various summer months; this was our 3rd cruise in September and we chose this for stops at Sitka and Icy Straight ...
Let me start by telling you about this Cruise line.
Cons:
1) It is very warm on this ship which makes everything you do very uncomfortable in the indoor common areas. Sweating is unavoidable
2) The internet was down for the first 3 days and getting any info as to why was impossible
Many different excuses or just avoidance of your question as to what’s going on
And what about ...
Not only were systems down for days on end, many things were misrepresented completely.
Not only were there 40 foot swells for over 12 hours, resulting in lots of things missed out on and sicknesses to endure.
The boat excursions were not at all as advertised.
It was not a large boat with a full-size bar. A tiny boat with no bar.
Systems were down so much that there was no ...
Never cruised with Norweigian before and we kept an opened mind. The steak is a good bet and in general the food onboard was ok. In the Bar and Grill the chicken was under cooked and don't expect the usual Buffalo sauce. This was sweet and thin. Starbucks ran out of dark roast coffee on the 4th day! We only drank dark roast therefore our package was wasted. The bar ran out of Baileys too. Our ...
