Almost Perfect!

Review for American Queen to U.S.A.

We had been recommended the American Queen by a close friend, who is quite choosy so we felt confident all would be prefect! Not quite! Disappointed with quality of some of entertainment. Particularly the lounge singer- we felt very poor, could have been much better. Sadly dinner service was lacking, although did improve so I guess someone at a neighbourung table may have said ...

First Time Cruiser

Although we are listing a bunch of issues that we encountered, we had a great time on our Memphis to New Orleans cruise. The cabin, dining, staff, hop on-off and premium excursions met and/or exceeded our expectations. The Peabody and Intercontinental hotel selections were excellent choices. But, as a passenger with mobility issues, the following items are presented and if remedied would make ...

A Delightful, Tastefully Refurbished Duchess

We decided to take a maiden, winter cruise aboard the American Duchess from Memphis to New Orleans. We found the newly refurbished boat to be beautifully yet simply appointed with lots of eye appeal. The Duchess is small, able to carry 160 passengers and that adds to the intimacy that this lovely vessel affords. Our weather was not terribly accommodating with ice, snow and low double digit ...

My dad chose this cruise for our family. He has traveled extensively and taking a river cruise on the Mississippi has been something he has wanted to do. He made it possible for the 14 family members to go on this trip. This was my husband and my first small cruise ship experience. The smaller ship experience allows you to get to know the staff better and your fellow passengers. Our experience in ...

. We particularly enjoyed the entertainment and felt that the actors and musicians were superior to nearly all the acts we have experienced on many cruise ships. The service, from the all American Staff, was mostly very good and the food was plentiful and good, without being outstanding with the exception of the cookies to die for. The front porch cafe was often busy at peak times but we ...

We wanted to see America in a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere. We wanted no long flight. We wanted good food, good company (The passengers were interesting, active, and well educated.), and interesting sights. (The plantations were quite interesting and the grounds were impressive. The guides were excellent.) We got all of those. It is a lovely, new boat, which is very easy to get around, with a ...

This was my 4th trip on the American Queen this year. Quite frankly, I found the music to be addictive! The whole experience is quite nice, but the music is the biggest draw for me. All the musicians are top notch. I especially enjoy Greg Lupton, who plays piano in the Captain's Bar twice a night. He is so engaging, with his sing-a-longs and warm humor. He's also a very, very talented ...

Choose this as it was in US. Really liked the all inclusive feature of hotel the night before the cruise, tips and most shore excursions. The onboard lectures were informative of the Civil War, and the river. Entertainment were local musicians and their program reflected the area we were located. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food reflected the South, liked the fact one could order a half ...

This was our third American Cruise in less than 2 years. This spring we cruised Puget Sound, and the year before the Florida Rivers. The only disappointment this time was the lack of sound proofing between our room, 511, and a crew member. We were awakened each morning by his alarm clock, 527am, 447am, etc. We could almost hear what was being said on his TV. On the other side of us we could ...

We decided to take this cruise up the Mississppi River over the 4th of July; one, to celebrate the holiday, and two to see a bit of our country. The passengers were a bit older crowd and the overall dress was a little less causal when compared to most of the ocean-going cruise-lines I've been on. They have a cruise up the Columbia River that would be very nice...not so hot and humid...and ...
