We like 14 day Carib cruises out of NYC so this year sailed the Bliss. Great cruise and good staff. We had a standard balcony cabin with plenty of room for the two of us. Nice ship with lots of bars and comfy lounges - beer pub, whiskey bar, wine bar and others. We really enjoyed the fun and attentive bar staff at Maltings. Most of the (20 or so) beers on draft in the pub are IPAs but they have a wide selection in bottles as well. General dining restaurants were fine - standard fare, nothing special - but specialty restaurants really good. Buffet was great - better quality food than the general dining (hotter, more variety, very nicely prepared and presented). The only 'complaint' is that there is too much salt added to food thoughout. We don't use salt at home, so really notice it. Anyone on the typical American take-out diet probably wouldn't notice. We didn't participate in any of the 'activities' like bingo or quiz shows but tey had some good entertainment. the 'Beatles' group was standing room only at every show - they needed a bigger venue! They had a rock/pop band who did a good job, and the 'Jersey Boys' was a great performance. There was live music in moist lounges (District Brew House, Mojito bar, atrium and observation lounge) but we like a quieter life so didn't go. The observation lounge was a great place to get a comfy chair and snack. Tried the shore excursions for snorkeling but they were a bit disappointing. Snorkeling was cancelled in Belize due to high wind (too much chop for the boats to take a crowd to the reef). Grand Cayman has great snorkeling sites. Why that captain took us where he did is a mystery and was disappointing - we tendered to the dock, walked 1/2 mile to another boat, which took us right back in front of where the Bliss was moored and we snorkeled a nearly barren bit of reef and ship right there. They also didn't have enough equipment to suit everyone on board. Cozumel also has great snorkeling sites, but don't go to Chakanaab for that. Chakanaab is a great reserve/park with a nice beach, don't go there for the snorkeling. They had enough equipment for everyone, but some of it was faulty - torn masks that didn't seal, etc. In future cruises I'll contact a reputable dive shop to arrange a snorkel (or dive) excursion.

Cabin Review

Balcony Stateroom

standard balcony starboard front of ship on deck 9. quiet. bed was a bit 'hard'. Good shower.

Port Reviews

Great Stirrup Cay

Nice beach, good food and drink service. Snorkeling was disappointing though I didn't expect much from the start.

Harvest Caye

It's a very long walk from the ship to the island and only after getting there was I told that the excursion was cancelled. Disappointing. On the other hand, walking nearly 2 miles to the island and back meant i could skip the gym for that day.
