I originally had a cruise on NCL in the Haven on this date(never sailed NCL b4). NCL's poor customer service prompted me to look for a new line. My husband and I had sailed Celebrity once for our honeymoon, and then I stumbled upon the Edge. It had what I wanted - a private suite restaurant and pool area. The wait for last week seemed forever ( even though I waited a much shorter time than many).

I am not going to lie. I saw many reviews of the ship both positive and negative, so I was a little nervous when we got to the port. As we entered terminal 25, we were directed to the Retreat boarding area. Upon arrival in the area, we were offered drinks, but 1045 is a little early for us. Next thing you know our photos were snapped, and we were being escorted onto the ship. We were at our stateroom 8308 no later than 1100. It was beautiful, and while our attendant told us not quite ready, we would have taken it. Looked ready to me. We put on our swimsuits and headed out to explore.

I am pretty sure there are places we never saw (for example we saw Raw on 5 on our way off the ship for the first time). But the areas we discovered were absolutely spectacular. We had our lunch in Luminae, and it is a gorgeous venue. All of our dinners were in Luminae except one. We chose to dine there every night because we loved Angela and Valeria and the food was terrific. This was also a great place to run into and chit chat with those that we were meeting on the ship. We tried one breakfast in Luminae, and it was okay, but we decided for us that Oceanview Cafe worked better for us. So we would hit Cafe al Bacio on three then climb the stairs to Oceanview on 14. I loved the handwashing station in Oceanview ( as a nurse I am not a massive fan of sanitizer - sorry but if you can wash then it is 100x's better than sanitizer). I wish I had seen more people using the sinks.

Cabin Review

Sky Suite

Cabin S1

This was an aft corner Sky Suite. There is a nice hallway to the room off the main hallway. While all of the floor plans since I booked this room showed the bed not facing the sea( the promoted position on the Celebrity website), I was hoping the bed would be facing the sea. Alas, it was not. However, we loved our suite. The huge rocking chairs have been removed from the Sky Suites. Because we had a larger verandah someone had already requested loungers to be in place and I guess these are being left as guests require them. Great because that is just what I wanted.

We never had room service because the little table on the verandah is just not doable for room service. We did have canapes delivered every day and that table works for canapes. The shower in our room still drops water onto the floor when being used - massive amounts of water. We made some recommendations on how to fix it. One shall see. My mattress side was very hard. And the set up for the closet space is just not right - there is no room for getting in and out of the closet with the bed right there - and trust me I am not a big person.

Now the most crucial part - Nadeth our room attendant and Tanya, our butler - LOVE LOVE LOVE! There is just not enough praise I can give to these ladies. They made the negatives forgettable. I would take them with me on any and every cruise in the future! If you are lucky enough to get these ladies kudos!

Please note if you have problems walking it is important to know the aft rooms are FAR, very FAR from the aft elevators.
