We chose this cruise, since we felt it was a good deal. The food was great, the port excursions met our expectations and we got the chance to meet some nice people. The service by the crew and tour guides were great, especially the guide for Heidelberg. He looked like Mark Twain and knew the city and castle very well. The weather could have been a little better, but we still had a great time. The extra tour to the Medieval Village of Colmar, France was very nice. We also enjoyed the extra tour to Bruhl UNESCO Palaces, although we wish that the time allotted could have been a little longer to tour the palace gardens.
We wish that we could have spent more time in Basel, perhaps next time we'll fly over a few days ahead of time. Other than falling on a hike in the Black Forest, we would love to take another Viking cruise in the future. The ship was well maintained by the crew.
Nice room, a fair amount of space to move around in. Comfortable bed. We liked the heated floor in the bathroom.
We did our own exploring in Cologne as we went to the Chocolate Factory.
