Our family of eight (3 generations) traveled with AmaWaterways from Nuremberg to Budapest, visiting Christmas markets in Germany, Austria and Hungary along the way.
Embarkation was quick and pleasant. We were greeted when we arrived and shown directly to our stateroom. Our luggage soon followed. After settling in we attended the Welcome Cocktail Party, safety briefing and dinner.
The Ship: The public spaces include a large comfortable lounge with access to a small deck, two dining rooms, a large sundeck with a fitness track and pool, a fitness room and a massage & hair salon. An elevator provides access to all but the sun deck. Internet is available throughout.
Our cabin was comfortable with two balconies and had a queen size bed, two chairs and a desk. The cabin also had a reasonably large closet, built in shelves, and an in room safe. The bathroom had an interesting window between the bathroom and the cabin. We spent a few odd moments wondering why the bathroom wasn't more private (we could look through the window into the bathroom from the cabin), but finally figured out that one of the light switches controlled changing the window from transparent to opaque ... One warning - the fitness track is directly over the cabins on the Violin Deck and the occasional runner could be heard stomping overhead.
Christmas Market was good, but would have liked to spend time visiting some of the historic sites in Nuremberg. If I had it to do over, I would have arrived more than one day early and spent some time seeing the sites on my own.
Enjoyed the walking tour of Regensburg. I guided walk took us into town and we were then left on our own to explore. It is a charming small town with lots of shops. We enjoyed having wurst at the historic Wurstkuchl.
