My wife and I took this cruise a few days after we got married as a honeymoon trip. The entire trip was a surprise for my wife and we were absolutely astounded by the level of service, attention to detail, and the overall experience of the cruise.

Let me start by saying that as a couple in our early 20's, we were the youngest people on this cruise by far. If you are looking for a cruise with a nightlife and with a lot of young people, this is not the cruise for you. We were the only honeymooners out of 180 passengers, most of which were retired. Though a little unnerving at first, this turned out to be one of our favorite aspects of the cruise. Everyone on the ship learned who we were, including the staff, and made a great effort to make us feel welcome. We made friends, had a ton of fun, and were treated as novelties. It made the experience very special.

We opted to arrive in Amsterdam 3 days early to explore the city. We booked this portion of our trip on our own, with the exception of the airfare. We paid a small fee to choose our flights and arrive early since we did not book the pre-cruise with Viking, but it was well worth the convenience.
