We boarded LeSoleal in the Solomon Islands, and cruised southwards through the Coral Sea to the very remote isles of Vanuatu and New Caledonia. We disembarked in Noumea.
The ship was spotless, well maintained and operated to perfection.
The crew from the captain down were polite and helpful, even though we basically only speak English. The cabins are small but comfortable, and well equipped. We found thefood very varied and tasty.

The cabins are small but comfortable, and well equipped. We found this cabin particularly well situated, adjacent to the main boarding/disembarking area, and it was one deck above the main restaurant, and one deck below the lounge, where activity briefings took place.

Honiara
Very interesting part of the South Pacific/Coral Sea. Quite basic facilities outside the few 4/5 star hotels, but a great spot to investigate the way of life of these Islanders. Nearby is the location for one of the most important Pacific Sea Battles of WWll, many ships lie undisturbed on nearby IRON BOTTOM SOUND.
Noumea
Noumea has become a quite delightful city, very clean in the Central Square, with a surprising absence of graffiti (very different to our last visit some 40 years ago)! The French influence is very strong, and this mixed with the strong Islander culture, make for very interesting exploring.
