Went on this, our 6th cruise just to try out NCL and get away for a week. We travel a LOT and took a cruise just to keep from having to pack and unpack constantly. Here's our take on the Sun.

Food: Reading prior reviews caused us a little concern about the food quality. HOWEVER, AND THIS IS A BIG HOWEVER, we were very pleasantly surprised. Being native New Orleanians, our taste buds are jaded and we're really tough on the cuisine. NCL's food came thru with flying colors. The food isn't for the plain palates of the world. This food's complex; not just meat and potatoes. How about pecan crusted snapper over gumbo? Grilled lobster? Beef Wellington? Seared tuna salad? Get the idea? Forget boxed mashed potatoes and meatloaf. This is for foodies! Tapas is brilliant but you MUST like to try NEW THINGS.

Staff: Just terrific. Never had a cruise where the staff from the cruise director (a total HOOT!) to the cooks didn't just like each other, it was like a love affair and we, the passengers, were included. They weren't particularly effective if you had a problem but they were so nice, who cared?
