Went on a two week (back to back) cruise with my sister and my adult daughter. Girls cruise! SO excited. First time with Costa. We all enjoyed the cultural experience. Very few English speaking guests on board. We don't speak Italian or French but they had specific English embarkation and de-embarkation talks and any relevant announcements were given in 4 or 5 languages. The ship was ...
We have chosen the itinerary not the ship but as the agency recommended this ship as a 5 stars from Costa fleet I expected the best of it. Well unfortunately expectations were far too high compared to reality.
First of all is not a 5 stars and if I take the quality of the cabin and restaurant grounds is not even 4, I would give it a maximum of 3.
The whole ship looks like it would have been ...
We had not taken Celebrity in a few years so we recently booked a 3 nighter.
The Eclipse is a beautiful ship, elegant and luxurious but not garish. The service was amazing and the food was the best we have had on any of the 52 cruises we have taken. We favor Crystal, Radisson, MSC and Holland America but are fine with RC and NCL's newer ships. Costa is a disaster and Carnival has it's own ...
After reading some critical reviews of the Magica I boarded 4/8/07 with little expectation of a great week. From the time we arrived to the time we left the cruise exceeded our expectations. As a frequent cruiser I am not easily impressed but this ship was impressive! The ambience is wonderful, Italian influences abound from the huge atrium entrance to the wonderfully appointed dining and meeting ...
So after reading all the bad reviews I tried to keep an open mind about my vacation. My aunt had been an a Costa cruise before (not Magica) and said it was fabulous. Since it was Easter and my entire family was going (mom, dad, sisters who are 18 and 20), grandmother, aunt and my boyfriend (we are both 24), I decided to go.
Embarkation: When we all arrived, I thought it was going to be a breeze ...
I just got back from a wonderful vacation. Missing it already. We were on the Costa Magica 4/29/07 -5/04/07 We are a family daddy31, mommy30, a 7 year old girl and 5 year old boy. I got to admit that I was thinking that I made a huge mistake booking this cruise from some reviews I had read. But the peace comes form some of the other people and I would like to thank you all for that! You know who ...
Just back today from our Magica cruise. Overall it was close to being perfect.
This is the only cruise I have been on with only one day at sea. The rest of the time we were pulling into a port. Grand Cayman Island was my favorite and Cozumel was my least favorite.
The Magica is a big and beautiful ship that had "kids sail free" for this cruise. So needless to say there were a lot of children ...
We just got back from our Costa Magica cruise today which started 3/25-4/1 2007 to the Western Caribbean. I went as part of a larger group which consisted of 3 families with 5 children ages 6-8 years old.
I went for the cheap seats, an interior cabin on the second level (Tintoretto) and spent almost $1800 for one adult and 2 children. The room was spacious enough, very clean, and comfortable. I ...
Cat. 06 Oceanview Room/Number 1275 Costa Magica March 2007 Married couple with two small kids ( 2 1/2 and 5).
Embarkation was a breeze. It took literally about 10 minutes to get through the line and get processed, and on board.
The ship has two main dining rooms: Smeralda and Portofino. We ate in Smeralda, it was beautiful and the wait staff was outstanding. They do an Italian Night where the ...
We sailed on the Costa Magica in February 2007 along with two other couples, one of which were first time cruisers. We drove to Fort Lauderdale and spent a couple of nights in Hollywood, FL prior to sailing. Upon arriving at the cruise port, we found the lines for embarkation to be incredibly short, which was a surprise to us, as this was a sold out cruise. We literally were checked in and ...
