Spent far too much time and energy planning this cruise and cruise tour. The web site and app. is not user friendly and response time is hit and miss likely causing us to book our next cruise with another company. Otherwise I would have rated this cruise a solid 4, maybe even 5.

This was our 10th cruise, first on HAL and first to Alaska. We are active 60+ "young adults". We traveled with my brother and his wife. Their first time on HAL and in Alaska. Trip started at Anchorage airport with bus to Westmark Hotel for a night. Would not stay there again. Think Motel 6. HAL should be ashamed to put customers up there. There's a lot of things that made this entire experience not enjoyable from the beginning. Dealing with customer service is almost nonexistent. They do not reply to emails, when you cancel things on their website there's no way to tell if you're due reimbursement, where it goes, and their methodology for giving onboard credit versus a refund and when they issue is vague at best. My wife and I had scheduled a New Zealand cruise twice but the covid hoax messed it over two years in a row. As a result, we returned to Alaska for the third time.

We chose this cruise because of the dates. Everything and everyone was wonderful. The only fault we found was the condition of our cabin. The bathroom needed more attention to clean stains in the shower and toilet. There were stains on the bed cover so we just threw it off. We knew this was an older ship that had been refurbished. Terrible customer service on phone and many on ship. Older ship, needs updating. Room had an odor. Carpet, bedakirt and outlets outdated. It needs a good overhaul. Food subpar.
