My wife & I have wanted to do a repositioning cruise for some time, and have just returned from a wonderful Viking Ocean transatlantic voyage from Ft. Lauderdale to Barcelona March 2 ~ 16, with stops in St. Martin and Madeira. We used Viking Air throughout, and upgraded to Delta One on the long return flight. We stayed overnight the day before at the Embassy Suites 17th Street, Ft. ...
This was our second Viking Ocean cruise and, due to personal circumstances, the first on which we were fully able to relax and appreciate. Our expectations were high but tempered: the actual experience far exceeded our hopes and dreams.
Service was even better than on our first cruise. From the room stewards to the outstanding bar staff (we use that a lot) and wonderful, welcoming, attentive ...
Everything onboard was beyond expectations. The food, service, activities, cleanliness, and comfort - top shelf. I loved the heated floor in the bathroom and the large shower. I found few waiting times for anything. There were many nice areas for card games or intimate visiting with friends. I enjoyed the lovely music in the atrium and especially the guitar player in the Explorers Lounge. The ...
Our only other cruise experience was The Inside Passage to Alaska.
After hearing rave reviews by neighbors and acquaintances, we elected to give Viking a try!
Also, my wife, Nancy, was excited by 21 days of travel with NO packing/unpacking!
Viking is impressive. Layout of the stateroom, furnishings of the Ship, eating options, selection, and training of the staff - everything has been ...
This was our 19th cruise, but our first on Viking. Previously, we've sailed on a number of the mainstream lines, as well as Oceania. Our experience on Viking was largely excellent, with a few minor cavils. Here's our list of positives and negatives:
Positives:
- Wonderful service attitude. They're always extremely accommodating
- Beautiful ship. Like a fine, high-end hotel
- Excellent ...
This was our first experience with Viking. We had considered a River Cruise for 2024 but changed our minds. Mid summer we received an email from Viking that had several cruises at the end of the year that included International Air. This being a Transatlantic Cruise with a great price. I wasn't sure how we would stay busy for one stretch of 6 days across the Atlantic. We found plenty to do, ...
Our first Viking cruise exceeded our expectations. Lovely ship, well-trained staff, efficient management.
Ship constantly well cared for and tidy. All staff were courteous and kind.
Restaurants offered many GF options and attended to requests with care. Meals were generally quite attractive, varied, and tasty. Wait staff was generally knowledgeable and very pleasant.
Room was kept ...
We've been on cruise hiatus since COVID so were excited to board the new Saturn, our first time with Viking. The ship and the food exceeded our expectations.
Saturn is sleek, smooth and serene, beautifully designed for peaceful enjoyment, with numerous sitting areas inviting you to relax. The center pool, wintergarden, spa and Explorer’s lounge were warm and comfy—though you're a little ...
This was a first cruise for my husband. He and I were blown away by the beauty and efficiency of the ship and crew. The food was outstanding and our room was lovely. We could not have asked for a better experience My husband said he would definitely take another cruise.
There was a group of 6 of us and we all enjoyed our time aboard ship and the excursions were interesting and enjoyable. ...
We had sailed on Rhine with Viking so did not hesitate to take this cruise. Can't say enough about this terrific line.
The ship itself...Neptune... was so clean and fresh both inside and out that one would think it was brand new.
Left from Manhattan Cruise Terminal after the easiest and quickest embarkation we have experienced.
We were upgraded to a Penthouse Verandah stateroom. (First ...
