First time in Europe and with Celebrity. Sailed RCI, Carnival and Norwegian.
The ship was in great shape, well designed never felt congested and any line was fairly short. I really liked the indoor solarium pool it was a good size and had two 'warm tubs' in the adults only area, although there were almost no kids on this cruise, it was mostly a gray hair tour :)
The staff were excellent, the ...
We sailed from Venice to Barcelona. Aqua class was worth the extra, dining in Blu for breakfasts and dinner for a lighter and smaller venue and location of the suite made it worthwhile. We had excellent service throughout. I found the buffet a little overwhelming and chose to have light lunch at Aqua Spa cafe.
Activities were good, the entertainment was okay. Did not really enjoy the band with ...
The following review is my honest opinion :
Embarkation ; we arrived around 6pm to experience a wait of 30 minutes with reduced staff, this was an indication of things to come. There was no feel good factor and "welcome to your cruise" etc.
we were processed and past through security .
Once on the ship the welcome was a few drinks on a tray "over there" , not the welcome you anticipate from a ...
If Celebrity uses poker as a way to entice people on to their boats then they have a duty to run it properly.
The cruise was from Venice to Barcelona. From Salerno which was half way through the cruise there was no poker tournaments. There is very little labor involved as they are played om Poker Tech machines or similar.Seems they are too lazy. Nobody wants to play cash because of the high rake. ...
We cruised for the first time last year on the Solstice and had such a wonderful time decided to choose Celebrity again. Our second cruise was a pleasant experience, but we have not retuned home with the same enthusiasm.
Equinox is a beautiful ship and meticulously maintained. Having been on the Solstice we quickly found our way around as the ships are identical, but this also led to a sense of ...
This was our fifth celebrity cruise and tenth in total. We are retired and in our early sixties and prefer Celebrity to Royal Caribbean.
We flew from Birmingham Airport to Venice and were met by Celebrity reps at the airport where our luggage was taken for us. Transfer to the port was very quick and we were on the ship by midday, enjoying a mimosa. The cabins were ready by 1.30 and the luggage ...
We were "Cruise Virgins" and therefore our experiences dictated our decision to consider further cruises.
Having decided on our cruise and booked a fly/cruise package it was only the sharp eye of our travel agent, who spotted that Celebrity had booked our flights from London to Venice via a stopover in Munich instead of the direct flight expected. There was no communication from Celebrity about ...
We have been on 8 other cruises all on Royal Caribbean ships. We were told that Celebrity was a step up- well I am still trying to work how where and how.
It was a very nice cruise and if we hadn't been on others we would be gobsmacked I guess however I didn't feel that this ship was as 'tight ' as it could be.
We were a little late in the afternoon embarking 4 pm and we went straight to Ocean ...
We are a well travelled couple (63, 64), who came lately to cruising, mainly because no reputable cruise line starts cruises from Israel.
We booked the cruise (7 days - Venice-Istanbul - 1C veranda) through an internet agency with a "senior" rate. This agency also includes free gratuities and a small agency discount. Thus – we had "select" dining.
We flew to Venice 2 days before the cruise, ...
Since the cruise started in Venice I arrived a few days early to enjoy that beautiful city and surrounding area. To keep costs down I booked a hotel in Padua/Padova (Hotel Al Cason) and paid half the cost of my sisters staying in Venice. The train ride was 15 minutes and depending on the train you choose was 3-9 euros each way. The hotel was an easy 5 minute walk from the train ...
