We honeymooned on the Crown in 2007. Had a great time sailing from NYC to the Caribbean and back. That trip kick started our love of cruising. So this trip was a homecoming of sorts.

I choose this cruise because it was easy access for my sister and myself as we live in Vancouver.
I have cruised a lot but only once before with Princess to Alaska. I normally use Celebrity.
First of all the good. I cant say enough about the friendliness of the ship crew and staff. 5 stars I would give 6 if I could.

Sapphire was built in 2004 and refurbished in 2018.
It hold ups to 2670 passengers and up to 1100 crew. That's a nice crew to passenger ratio.
This smaller ship really provides wonderful service. We took a repositioning cruise from Vancouver to Los Angeles from October 8th-15th, 2023.
I would have given them a 4 1/2 stars, but that wasn't a choice.

Most of our cruises have been 21 to 28 days but this was a 56 day adventure in the South Pacific.
The itinerary was great although a couple of ports missed due to weather and the laid back South Pacific lifestyle!
The crew so friendly, hard working, accommodating and caring. . Cruise director was outstanding as was the captain . After 56 days we were one big happy family.

Ship was extremely crowded. Embarkation took hours. Layout of the ship is confusing. A lot of people mentioned their difficulties with the ship layout. Ship is old and needs a lot of repairs. We booked Aqua class, as had done several times before. Not worth it, and for much less, you get almost the same in other categories, like Veranda or Concierge.
