Loved the land portion, the boat's a bore

Review for a Asia Cruise on Diamond Princess

Japan and busan were delightful, but this boat is a bore! most of the entertainment has been soloists - a juggler, a magician, a pianist, a harmonica player - and this is in the main theater! the ship is small and there aren't many options provided. the same two violinists, one pianist and a small band rotating around doing the same songs over and over. the food has been unimpressive. some ...

A lovely cruise but itinerary could be improved.

Review for a Asia Cruise on Azamara Journey

Had some reservations about Azamara as the company had changed hands since our last cruise with them. However, we were happy with the ship, cabin comfortable, excellent cabin attendant Raymond. Food good in dining room and buffet. We enjoyed the destination lectures. Agree with previous reviewer, the drummers from Kagoshima were amazing. Also the buffet on the deck before we reached ...

Worst cruise ever

Review for a Asia Cruise on Diamond Princess

This was our 11th cruise and 2nd princess (1st experience was Emerald Princess in September 2022 and was excellent) but was the worst ever. 1. Waiting for 2 hour at Yokohama even everything done online but to pick up the medallion. Suggest to narrow the check in window to minimize overcrowding passenger during peak hours. 2. Water shuttle horrible. Some disrespectful passengers picked up ...

Very disappointed

This was our first time on an Oceania ship. Friends had said they were very good and considered a "higher level" cruise line. Was really looking forward to the trip. We did a 14 day portion of the 77 day trip from LA to Sydney. The hotels chosen by Oceania for before and after cruise stay in Tokyo and HK were wonderful. However there was a confusion re bus number on embarkation day to take us ...

A Few Unsettling Surprises

Review for a Asia Cruise on Seven Seas Navigator

We anticipated this cruise that was years in the planning. It was postponed several times due to Covid . Finally, on the fourth attempt at booking this "bucket list" travel event, we succeeded in getting aboard what was touted as an upscale ship rated a 10 for its culinary excellence. Indeed, when we entered our cabin, we were struck by its elegance and cleanliness. The Regents was a ...

Amazing Jewel is Back to Asia

Review for a Asia Cruise on Norwegian Jewel

This was my 2nd time on Jewel, after near to 6 years which I had sailed on the same ship in Australia. This time, Jewel was embarked at the new Tokyo International Cruise Terminal. The registration at the terminal was assisted by the local Japanese who are mostly volunteers. The waiting time wasn’t that long, we managed to board the ship within an hour. After a quick buffet lunch at the Garden ...

Great Itinerary but Disappointing Cruise and Will Never Use NCL Again

Review for a Asia Cruise on Norwegian Jewel

Pre-Cruise: This was our 18th cruise and our 3rd with NCL. We selected back to back cruises because of the itineraries, intensive Japan and Philippines beginning in Tokyo and ending in Singapore. Within 24hrs of booking with our travel agent an NCL representative phoned us to check the contents of our package and begin the upselling process. This caused some confusion regarding what our package ...

This was our fourth cruise with Princess, and the most disappointing one. In general, the whole cruise was mediocre. Check in took about 40 minutes and we were not in the peak period. Room was reasonably clean but some furniture are showing wear and really tired. There was a cold ' Hello ' with the steward, but after I gave a 50 dollars tip the next day, I get some smile. Activities and ...

Staterooms need a major overhaul

Review for a Asia Cruise on Silver Whisper

User Avatar

The ports in Japan were outstanding and the time of the year was perfect for us. The weather is also lovely in Japan in October. The stop in South Korea was a great bonus. The stateroom are worn, dated, and in ill-repair. Our carpeting was buckled and a "trip hazard". Our neighbors' carpet was actually ripped. The furniture had parts of the wood that were worn through the finish. The drawers ...

My husband and I just returned from the Silver Whisper in Japan. A little background, we have over 25 cruises under our belts including 5 since Covid ended, this cruise being our 6th post-Covid. We have cruised Seabourn, Oceania, Viking, Azamara, and suites on Royal, NCL, and Celebrity as well as regular rooms on Princess and Royal. The Great The food quality and preparation were excellent ...
