Overall, while we enjoyed our vacation, the on-board experience of the RSSC explorer failed to live up to the hype of an ‘ultra’ luxury cruise line and we will be unlikely to book again.
Dining: Specialty dining was an exception to our general experience, generally being outstanding on this cruise. Service and food quality in these venues was markedly superior to main dining (Compass Rose) and ...
Debated whether it was a 4* or a 5. Lets say 4.5 and round it up. Itinerary was Tokyo to Tokyo with stops in Japan, Korea and China.
Pre Cruise (included) - We did our own air and transfers. Added 2 days on our own to the hotel @ $450 a night. The pre cruise tours were organized by Destinations Asia and had an American in the front doing all the managing and announcements. Worked well ...
This was our first cruise with Regent and our first cruise on a 'Luxury Cruise Line' prior to this we had done over 400 days of cruising on Princess and other supposedly next level down cruise lines.•
Regent is touted as the top of the line in luxury cruising. However, I must say our experience is that they are not.
The service levels were very poor compared to other supposedly lower ...
We were under the impression that Regent was a luxury cruise line and we wanted to try it .Oh what a mistake that was
We tried to be positive but found the food very hit or miss throughout the ship,we never truly experienced a really memorable meal
The poor service was clearly down to poorly trained and shortage of staff
The excursions provided by Regent that we booked on were an absolute ...
14 Night Tokyo to Bangkok cruise on Seven Seas Explorer - in F1 Superior Suite single occupancy.
First time on Regent and chose this cruise for the port variety. Demographic was as you would expect at this price point - over 65, with a real mixture of nationalities - large group of Australians, some New Zealanders and Canadians, good numbers from the UK and Europe, a few from Asia and the ...
I wanted to celebrate our 40th anniversary with a “bucket list” trip for my wife – something she has been wanting to do since she was child - which was a trip to Japan.
We chose Regent for this itinerary and more importantly, the shore excursions, based on our prior experience with them cruising Alaska, and Greece & Turkey. The previously experienced shore excursions were educational, ...
We chose Regent because of reputation, word-of-mouth, travel agent recommendation and I wanted to do something special for my wife's 70th.
Our strongest possible advice if you are considering Regent for your next sailing is to look at anyone else first - particularly perhaps Silversea or any other decent line.
Regent are a thing of the past.
Dreadful pre-cruise organization of travel and ...
That’s the sound of our hopes and dreams crashing…we had anticipated this trip for several years. Regents promises (taken from its website” exquisite meals, refined service and exhilarating shore excursions” but we found it was anything but.
The rooms in the boat are very nice, but that’s where the luxury stops. The food was not up to standard and the tours were not well thought out; it ...
We anticipated this cruise that was years in the planning. It was postponed several times due to Covid . Finally, on the fourth attempt at booking this "bucket list" travel event, we succeeded in getting aboard what was touted as an upscale ship rated a 10 for its culinary excellence. Indeed, when we entered our cabin, we were struck by its elegance and cleanliness.
The Regents was a ...
This was a 10-day itinerary around Japan, and we stayed aboard for nearly three weeks after while the ship sailed across the North Pacific, through the Aleutians and down the Inner Passage to Vancouver.
Excellent cabin, restaurant, and cruise director staff. Entertainment & onboard speakers good (especially Gloeta, the Naturalist).
We booked both Regent's pre-cruise "Vibrant Tokyo" package ...
