First and last experience with ’ultra’ luxury line

Review for a Asia Cruise on Seven Seas Explorer

Overall, while we enjoyed our vacation, the on-board experience of the RSSC explorer failed to live up to the hype of an ‘ultra’ luxury cruise line and we will be unlikely to book again. Dining: Specialty dining was an exception to our general experience, generally being outstanding on this cruise. Service and food quality in these venues was markedly superior to main dining (Compass Rose) and ...

This was our first cruise with Regent and our first cruise on a 'Luxury Cruise Line' prior to this we had done over 400 days of cruising on Princess and other supposedly next level down cruise lines.• Regent is touted as the top of the line in luxury cruising. However, I must say our experience is that they are not. The service levels were very poor compared to other supposedly lower ...

We chose this Tokyo-to-Tokyo 2-week Regent cruise based on its active itinerary, and friends who invited us to join them during cherry-blossom season. We added the 3 days in Tokyo before the departure. Our high expectations were dashed upon landing at Narita. The Regent Transport had 3 busses in the parking lot, yet didn't want to board a150 passengers until all of our flights arrived! Chaos ...

This was our third trip on Silversea in an Owner's Suite. We did Alaska--Anchorage to Vancouver on this cruise. Silver Muse was only about a year old. We found the decor to be comparable to Silversea standards, but modernized. We prefer the older, warmer decor, but recognize that Silversea must keep up with the times. Compare my pictures of Silver Muse with my pictures of Silver Shadow (we were ...

Having done two prior cruises with Silversea it was an easy decision to book a suite (deck 7**) from Vancouver to Tokyo via Alaska and Russia, believing it would be a great adventure, and it really was (mostly), but the inability to disembark for a day at Petrapavlovsk (rough weather) meant we were at sea for seven and a half days - far too long, but no fault of Silversea. The suite was ...

This cruise began with three day pretour in Tokya at ANA Intercontinental, a lovely hotel conveniently next to the subway and restaurants for convenience. Great room and breakfast and a really helpful group at the destination desk for going it alone. The tours organized by the cruise were bad, especually day one and two. Hours in the bus to see virtually nothing. OK the weather was poor and the ...

Regent Ain't What She Used To Be.

Review for a Asia Cruise on Seven Seas Voyager

Having sailed with Regent Cruises several times over the past 15 years, I’ve always found each voyage to be the perfect experience of what a first-class travel adventure should be: perfection in service, accommodations, attention to detail, generous amenities, well-planned tours, and fine dining. Even though I was a bit apprehensive about sailing with Regent again after learning last year that ...
