Carnival Sensation - Western Caribbean

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Carnival Sensation

This was my first cruise; I went with my mother, who had been on five other Carnival cruises, and my two teenaged daughters. We drove to Tampa and parked in the garage; embarkation was smooth, and the wait was not too long. Lunch was served on the Lido deck and in the adjoining Seaview Restaurant, and the wait there was long. Throughout the week, food was acceptable, but not anything like I had ...

Sensation review - 8/21/04 - 5 night Western Caribbean. Background: This was a last minute cruise for my wife (39) and I (44) along with our daughter (14) and her girlfriend (14), all of us from the Seattle area. I've cruised twice before, while my wife and kids have never cruised. We booked two weeks prior to the cruise through CQ. Although this was a bit stressful, it turned out to not be ...

Just returned from our cruise to Grand Cayman & Cozumel. Everything about it was great. Had read some bad reviews prior to leaving and have to admit I was a little nervous since I had made all the plans. I consider myself somewhat picky but I can honestly say I have nothing to complain about. Our cabin was inside on the main deck front and it exceeded my expectations. We had cruised on our ...

My wife and I made our first cruise on August 16th onboard the Sensation for a 5 day Western Caribbean cruise. We flew into Tampa early on the 16th and took a quick cab ride to the port. There is a set price of $20 from the airport to the port/downtown area which is clearly posted on the cab window. The driver was friendly and got us to the port in around 15 minutes. When we arrived to check-in ...

I have taken approximately 10 cruises with 4 different lines. I had taken a Carnival cruise out of Miami about 5 years ago and hated it. It was a wild drunken party with an unfriendly crew. Because of being part of a group I reluctantly agreed to go on the Sensation out of Tampa this last August 12th 2004. Beginning with the boarding, we drove ourselves and parked in the deck across the street. ...

My husband and I went on this cruise to celebrate our 17 yr anniversary. We planned several months in advance, and he got a really good rate with a military discount.I researched the ports of call and also read pretty much every cruise website I could find. We flew to Tampa from DC on Aug 29, the day before we sailed. We stayed at the Tampa Waterside Marriot, very nice hotel, but not much to do ...

Before starting we would like to thank everyone who has contributed to this site. We found it very helpful with all aspects of our vacation. Embarkation - A breeze, the Port of Tampa is easy to get in and out of and very close to the terminal. We arrived about 10:45, boarded by 12:30. Getting off the ship was just as easy. Public Rooms - We've read several posts knocking the color scheme. ...

Hi All, Just got back from the Sensation this past week. I took some time to get settled, but now I am ready to share my experience. Background This was our (DW) tenth (10th) cruise and I must say they have all been short cruises. Unfortunately, both of us have jobs that require a lot of time. Living in Florida we are able to drive to the pier, jump on the ship and be off in time to still ...

We just recently sailed on the Sensation out of Tampa FL. We booked our cruise through Carnival at the last minute and got a great deal on the price. We were thrilled to be going. I will try to break this down in sections to keep things straight. Embarkation - Went very smooth, directions were great, got right to the pier and dropped our bags. Parking is right across the street, very easy to get ...

The cruise was all in all a good one considering it was spring break and we had a boat full of college kids. The embarkation at Tampa went well. We were on the boat in no time and in our room. We were 2 old high school friends who wanted to get away for a long weekend. We thought the food was pretty good, and the service was fair in the dining room. The shows were great, and Darrin at the piano ...
