The propulsion system went out after we left Melbourne and were on our way to New Zealand. We were adrift in the winds for almost 24 hours before tug boats arrived to tow us back to Melbourne to have the problem fixed. But you know,....even though we we lost the opportunity to visit the New Zealand ports that were on the itinerary - it just became more of a on board adventure! Norwegian staff ...
We have been on many NCL cruises and when we saw this one that included Australia, Tasmania, and New Zealand it really seemed perfect for us. I really wanted to see the wildlife of NZ.
As most of you know this cruise did not reach any port other than Melbourne.
I am disappointed that the ship broke down and had to be towed back.
There is and was a lot of anger by the passengers but that ...
As most have heard the Star had some technical issues on its voyage to Australia on Feb 6, 2017, its AZiPod system had a major failure and the ship was stranded at sea. Had misplaced belief that Norwegian would have the problem repaired in time. Discovered days before flying out that 2 of the premiere ports( Vietnam and Thailand) were being cancelled As we cruised 4 more were cancelled. Passengers were ...
The Star has a lot to like: the hotel staff including the cruise director, restaurant and passenger service are outstanding and the entertainment is excellent. Unfortunately, despite a great crew the ship and company get three stars from me because it shows signs of being poorly maintained and the company (the crew does better) is extremely poor about communicating with passengers, making ...
I went on this cruise to see Australia, New Zealand Itinerary with the Port stops. We saw nothing and did nothing. (Continue Below)
NCL lied to us right up to leaving for the cruise that the one Azipod s would be fixed. When they were not, I asked to be able to have our cruise canceled so we could get our own flight money back. They said no. (They were all ready offering a full refund on the ...
