My husband and I have travelled on Silversea and Regent in the last 12 months so we were interested to try Seabourn to see how they compared. So we booked the ‘Gems of the Java Sea’ from Singapore to Bali.
First impressions were favourable. We had heard that on the previous cruise that embarkation was a nightmare and several people had complained. Obviously Seabourn had listened and embarkation ...
As a former Regent cruiser, this was my first cruise on Seabourn and my first as a "solo" traveler. I can only say it was wonderful. Seabourn it seems has mastered personal customer recognition in a way only a very fine hotel might. Passengers are almost always greeted by name . Though there are only 360 passengers this is still pretty special. In many ways while on my trip , I felt like I had ...
We made a last minute booking on the Seabourn Odyssey out of Singapore and bound for Dubai. We were disappointed when booking that the only suites left were ocean view A1, however when we boarded and sailed we realised that the internal layout is the same as the verandah suites, less the verandah but with a 5 feet window. We didn't feel disadvantaged at all.
Embarkation for us was very smooth, ...

My wife and I picked up the ship in Bali and got off ...
In writing this review I am going to do a typical university thing: compare and contrast, mainly because I have decided it is impossible for me not to be constantly comparing: in the last year I have spent sixty days on Oceania (and previously several dozen more), and have just completed my first ten day son Seabourn. How could I not compare? I will leave it to the reader to judge whether or not ...
We didn't actually board Odyssey in Singapore, the Cruise Critic review options didn't list Bali/Denpasar/Benoa where we had spent a very pleasant few days pre-cruise.
Embarkation was as welcoming, comfortable and smooth as we have come to expect from our many Seabourn cruises. An added benefit is the now usual practice of allowing early arrivals to enjoy lunch on board before the suites are ...
We cruised on the Seabourn small ships before but our first cruise on the new, larger vessels was in January 2013 from Sydney to Auckland. We enjoyed this cruise so much we endured the long flight once more from Florida to join the Odyssey in Singapore for a very interesting repositioning trip to Dubai via India.
Embarkation was delayed because the computer system went down but after that it was ...
