Overrated Luxury

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Seven Seas Mariner

We are regular cruisers and for our cruise to Alaska we felt we would benefit more from the small ship experience. Our travel agent recommended Regent as the most luxurious cruise line. Maybe we just expected to much. The ship itself was immaculate and all the staff were very courteous. However, we found the standard of the food to be dissapointing, the main difference in mainline cruises and ...

We just returned from our first cruise on a regent ship to Alaska. We sailed on June 3rd out of Seward and disembarked in Vancouver. Prior to sailing on Regent, we have been on many other lines; Viking Ocean, Oceania, Paul Gauguin, Princess, RCC, Holland America and Celebrity. We have been on Alaska cruises before, but this time I convinced my DH to try a “luxury line.” I am using the ...

Regent Alaska review Short take - Alaska gorgeous, ship lovely - cabin excellent, bed wonderful, service excellent. Crew professional and friendly. Food excellent. Denali pre-cruise poor value - disappointing. Administrative contacts with Regent office unhelpful and annoying, Ship and cruise portion of trip Ship Immaculate Cabin concierge level. SEWAGE on Regent Seven Seas Mariner Do NOT CHOOSE Regent Seven Seas… 1 star rating for the Regent Seven Seas Mariner and agent who booked it for the following reasons: I wanted to give you true feedback on my recent cruise that began on Sept 7 2022 from Vancouver Alaska Inside Passage. I asked for a total refund for the upgrade to DECK 8. $5,600. 1. SEWAGE on my DECK 8. This was on the ...

It Was A 6-Star Cruise For Us

I have read recent reviews of cruises on the Mariner that cast doubt on the exceptionable quality of the cruise experience on this ship. In part, my motivation for writing this review is to balance what has been written by some others (and to reinforce the positive reviews of the Mariner Alaska cruises that also appear in CruiseCritic). I travelled with my two adult daughters for a 7 day Alaska ...

My travel agent booked this cruise for myself and my husband. I did not read any reviews on about this cruise or ship until after we had already booked the tour. As we trust our agent very much. However, after reading the reviews, I was quite upset and almost ready to cancel the getaway all together. I am very happy that we didn't cancel and went on this cruise. Although we read in many ...

More positives than negatives, great weather helped make it a good trip

Some friends our ours recommended this cruise after they had taken it and loved it. We booked it through the travel arm of a large retail enterprise, which was probably a mistake. Prior to the cruise, there were several communication glitches, but I don't know whether that was the fault of the travel "agent" or Regent. In the end, the glitches mostly worked out, but it was a frustrating start ...

ALASKA !! Words can not describe the splendor

We chose this this cruise because we believe in Regent. Any other line we sail with is compared to Regent. After knowing we would be happy on Regent we then looked carefully at the itinerary. We wanted to sail in or out of Vancouver and we wanted a stop in Victoria. We also wanted to explore as much of the Inside Passage as we could. Next we wanted to sail with Terry Breen (she was the ...

Alaska was 6 star. The Regent experience was not.

This was our first Regent cruise but by no means our first cruise experience having previously completed sailings with Cunard, Holland America, Celebrity and Princess. Regent market themselves as a luxury 6 star, all inclusive cruise experience and you pay a premium for this. The problem with setting the bar so high is that unless you can actually deliver on ALL levels then you are only ever ...
