Had a pretty good time, but wouldn't pick this ship again
"I understand there are going to be kids on cruises, but don't advertise an adults-only area if you don't, in practice, have an adults-only area. Also, there's an area called the "solarium" that's meant to be adults-only, but there was no enforcement whatsoever of that supposed rule...."Read More

The good the bad and the ugly

Review for a Bahamas Cruise on Vision of the Seas

I was in an ocean view First the good: The crew were fabulous. Attentive, friendly, extremely skilled and eager to please. I can't say enough good about all of my interactions with them all. The "Chef's Table" was superb. I always book this experience whenever I cruise Royal and I was not disappointed. The food was, as always, great, the ambiance was first rate and again, the staff were ...

I am a D+ on RCL, so have really enjoyed them in the past. They now have gone paperless and have an app that you must use. It often takes 2 or 3 tries to get in. Why not perfect the app before launching it? The wifi is now the same way. You often have to try several times to log on. This is the first year that i have had poor wifi reception on a RCL ship. They have very few big shows as in the ...

Cold Temperatures But Still Had a Great Trip!

Review for a Bahamas Cruise on Vision of the Seas

Yes, sailing in January you take the risk of colder temperatures, this was expected, but not to the degree it turned out to be. The trip started with 6" of snow in Baltimore the morning of departure. Lots were closed at first so crews could plow and passengers leaving the preceding cruise could get to their cars and clean the snow off. Once the lots were opened, the line of cars proceeded. ...

Great service makes up for dated ship

It's a good thing Royal is planning a new class of small ships as the Vision class is slowly wearing out. In the meantime, the secret weapon of Royal was displayed on this voyage - Exceptional Service - at every venue, every staffer, from Windjammer to MDM to Centrum, to including Guest Services. All of the staff in the Windjammer have been converted from table cleaners to friendly hosts ...

My family and I had one table in the main dining room on the first day. By day 3, we were assigned a different table. When we arrived at our new table the service was insistent we were at the wrong table. He sent us upstairs to the other dining room and they sent us back downstairs to the table we were assigned to. That was miscommunication between staff would should have been sorted out prior to ...

Christmas Holiday Cruise

Vision sails from Baltimore, driving distance from home. Reports from previous cruisers gave the crew and ship good reviews and I had not been to Coco Cay since it was redone. Easy choice for my first cruise since the shut down. Vision did not disappoint, she is in exceptional condition and her crew was fantastic. Dining - I did not care for our table for two. We were seated in the rear of MDR ...

Way to start the Christmas Season

This cruise was right after Thanksgiving, so they slowly were putting up Christmas decorations as the cruise went on. A little chillier but to be expected. Had great weather. Cabin was very nice. Food in mdr we gave a 8/10 and Windjammer 7/10 as we felt not quite the selection of the past. Very good but wanted a better variety. Crew was awesome and friendly. Lots to do as far as activities. Love ...

We got a good price of $399.00 per person. I woke up with projectile vomiting the first night after the prime rib. There are no bargains insofar as shopping is concerned; rudest witch ever in FACETS, the jewelry store. I guess she gave a "good interview" to get hired. I will give thanks to Jaime in guest services for finding gingerale for me. Thanks to Marko for helping me as well. Thanks to ...

Just Say Nooooo

Review for a Bermuda Cruise on Vision of the Seas

I’m currently on the Vision. To say the LEAST I’m disappointed and underwhelmed. The food has been disgusting and I can’t get iced tea after 10 pm or before 11:30 am. This is not my first time cruising on RC, I was on the Grandeur of the Sea before. My experiences comparatively have been night and day. The only thing that gets an A+ is our waiter in the main dining room (food also sukd). He was ...

There's casual, and then there's whatever this trip was. I won't be sailing Royal again.

The best way I can describe it is thinking you were going out for dinner and drinks at an upscale restaurant, and then winding up at applebees. My other frustration was skipping Bermuda because of the hurricane. Obviously weather cannot be controlled and safety always comes first. However, we were supposed to have an overnight stay at a beautiful island....and instead they stopped at port ...
