WHAT A WONDERFUL

Review for a South America Cruise on Radiance of the Seas

We booked this cruise on Radiance of the Seas less than a month before the departure date. I found a price for 2 single balcony rooms that we simply couldn't refuse. We booked rooms 9254 and 9654 which were basically across the hall from each other but on opposite sides of the ship. They both had huge balconies (about 70 sq ft) and there was certainly room for more furniture in addition to the 2 ...

Now eight years old, the Radiance of the Seas, the first of RCI's Radiance class, is well maintained and in good condition. The crew was great and very friendly. A nice touch is that RCI has fixed benches to the heliport in the bow where you can sit and watch where the ship is going. My stateroom was a Category H Ocean-view, far forward on Deck 3. It was spacious enough. I had expected to ...

PRE-CRUISE: I elected to stay in Santiago for 3 days prior to the cruise. I chose a 4 star hotel that gave me a very reasonable rate and a large room. On the down side it was not too close to restaurants. I found the people of Chile very accommodating, although it would have been easier for me if I spoke a little Spanish. Most places I went shopping accepted USD or credit cards. Before I left ...

This was a second time I sailed on the Radiance. The ship was in excellent condition everywhere, it still looked as if it was rather new, a nice contrast to the tired looking Voyager class vessels. Our aft JS was as great as expected and experienced on other Radiance class ships. Marsha our room steward a jewel, could not have been better. The trip started in Buenos Aires. Boarding at 2:30 ...

For many years my wife had wanted me to take a cruise but I resisted because I felt there was nothing to do "in the middle of the ocean". Finally in 2003 I gave in and we sailed on the Splendor of the Seas from Galveston, TX going through the Panama Canal and return to Texas. It was a fantastic cruise and I was "hooked" from then on. Now, I'm always bugging her to "put me on the water". In June of ...

Where to start on such a wonderful trip! We arrived in Santiago about 1 1/2 hrs. late two days before our Nov. 23rd cruise. The airport took about an hour to get through. Warning, do not take any type of fruit, or nuts with you. They will be taken there, possibly with a fine. Our transfer was arranged by the Hostal Morgan B&B in Valparaiso. We were met outside customs by a wonderful gentlemen ...

We have been on Radiance a total of 4 separate times in the last 4 years. Aside from the last cruise (we just got back) the previous time we were aboard was just before the ship went into refit a year ago. Every cruise on Radiance had been a gem. Great service, excellent cuisine, everything worked, people were friendly - no complaints whatsoever. We were on Navigator in the Med last fall and ...
