Going on a cruise was at the top of my bucket list, and Alaska was the place I most wanted to see. So when my brother invited us to join his family on this trip, I didn't hesitate to book a stateroom on the beautiful Radiance of the Seas. From the gorgeous centrum with its twin waterfalls to the elegantly appointed Cascades dining room, all public areas on the ship are absolutely lovely. Works ...
Royal Caribbean Explorer of the Seas Review

Alaska Cruise
There were good points and bad points to this cruise. I don’t want to dwell on the bad, I will just give a brief description of what happened and move on to the good and better points.
The bad points were I booked the RCCL shuttle from SeaTac to the Seattle cruise terminal. SeaTac is under construction. I am ...
The itinerary was everything we hoped for. The captain was excellent and kept us informed of things to see. We had a balcony room which was very large as well as the balcony. The room had plenty of space to put our clothing away. You were able to see the glaciers from our balcony
The food and shows were good.
The music director was GREAT AND TALENTED. He was one the best we have ever ...
This cruise went on sale in March, 2016 for solo travelers. I got an ocean view cabin to myself for about $75 a day. That's a deal! Flying into Anchorage, AK, and flying home from Vancouver, BC, Canada made the air fare cost almost as much as the cruise.
I picked the shore excursions I wanted, although a lot of them seemed pricey.
My cabin was great. My cabin steward, Michael, was ...
Was very disappointed since most reviews for this cruise ship and line are pretty good. Went on an Alaskan cruise, which meant most of the ships outdoor areas were not really usable. This left limited common spaces to hang out. Food was mediocre, but I did always have something I could eat. Interior room was pretty spacious. Overall, my review would be a 3.5/5 here.

I enjoyed the cruise, ship and staff and the itinerary was excellent except I would have preferred at least one less "sea" day since there was little to do when the weather was a bit "non-conducive" to outdoor activities. Don't get me wrong, I understand we had great weather for this time of the year and I appreciated the sunshine. but unlike cruises to warmer climates, guests weren't exactly ...
Pre-cruise tour to Denali
Our vacation began with a pre-cruise tour of the Alaskan interior. We used Alaska Airlines which has a monopoly on Alaskan flights. We enjoyed extra legroom in comparison with other airlines, and the flights left on time or early. We were met in baggage claim by Karen and quickly whisked off to Pike’s Lodge ( a rustic motor inn with stuffed animals in the lobby who ...
Overall this was a great trip to Alaska, however there are some areas which could use some improvement.
We flew in to Seatac the day before which was a good decision since our flights were delayed over two hours due to thunderstorms. We stayed overnight near the airport at the Quality inn Seatac. We chose this hotel because it has a free shuttle to and from the airport and also offers ...
We arrived in Seattle two days before the start date and had a good time there. We parked our car near the cruise terminal and were shuttled into the terminal . Then it all started going wrong the queues were enormous it took over 2 hours from arrival to getting on the ship. We were told that our cabins would not be ready as we boarded the ship and announcements would be made, none were ...
Overall - an enjoyable trip with a few issues (see below)
Embarkation could've been better - we had an inexperienced staffer check in my group of six (3 rooms) and the staffer incorrectly checked in my parents. (had to retake photos for the seapass scan when they tried to board the boat... and also forgot to set the account to the credit card that I already setup online.... so it was setup as ...
