MS Arena is on a four-year charter to UK-based Arena River Cruises (formerly The River Cruise Line) and will launch in March 2020, replacing one of its existing ships, ms Serenity.

The 180-passenger ship is currently sailing as "The Flamenco" and will go into dry dock in winter 2019 to be extensively refurbished with new cabins (some solos), a dining room, new lounge and new furniture and fittings throughout.

The ship will feature The Ambassadors Lounge, for pre- and post-dinner drinks; The Panorama Restaurant, where all meals will be served and a wellness suite with a relaxation area and a sauna.

Apart from tea, coffee and Wi-Fi, the ship will not be all-inclusive. Passengers can opt to pay £20 per person per night to include drinks with meals and 10 percent off shore excursions.

The ship will start the season on the Dutch waterways, before moving to the Rhone and Moselle in May and June, the Rhine in July and the Danube for the rest of the season, including as far as the Black Sea. It will also offer a series of Christmas markets sailings on the Rhine.
