This captain skips ports. What else can be said about a cruise billed as a voyage to Antarctica and the Falklands Islands but skips the Falklands and cuts out a day in Antarctica. I'm sure most people lined up to pay $$$ to see eight days in a row of the South Atlantic. No? Probably not. I hear there's a line forming onboard to join a class action lawsuit organized by some of the passengers. Rude ...
Beautiful ship, fabulous staff, wonderful cuisine, elegant suite. The Butler and Stewards were very attentive. We were fortunate on this leg, as with the previous one, in having thoroughly delightful weather.
Our stop in Montevideo was especially memorable. What a gorgeous city! The tour was well conducted by a very articulate guide, and the stops along the way were timed well to give ...
Very disappointed in Regent. You can tell that they are cutting corners, especially on the food. The staff are friendly, the highlight of this trip. Many new people, not well trained, especially at the patio grill. They never got my order right. The internet in our cabin was non existent. Their IT guy told us to stand in the hall to receive wifi. We had a previous cruise on this ship 3 months ago ...
Chosen because of itinerary. We usually cruise with Seabourn. The ship is showing its age especially in the bathroom which was dark and shabby. I am sure the newer ships are better. Our CD was ineffectual and did not interact with passegers. There were no activities on deck although the weather was perfect. Ghastly white mattresses on sunbeds made it look like a sanatorium. The included tours ...
The only things that were excellent on this cruise were the entertainment and laundry service. The food was good but not great and the slow sit-down service pushed you toward the buffets (which I do not like). The excursion were only fair, going to some very poor locations. The worst part of the trip was that we had essentially NO WiFi in our 2 cabins and the IT specialist knew that there were ...
This was our first Cruise on RSS, having completed several cruises before on other Cruise lines (on larger 1500-1800 passengers, 4* equivalent ships).
We had high hopes for RSS, having considered Silversea’s and only chosen to book with Regent because of their itinerary for this section of South America we wanted to sail. Covid issues in 2021 then cancelled this cruise and so this was our ...
We chose Regents for our 20th wedding anniversary trip. We heard it was the best.
We had one of their best suited and lost a full nights sleep the first night on board because there were exhaust fumes coming in our room from a faulty system plus the front door didn’t actually close completely and rattled all night, plus, plus, plus. It was a hellish night.
They can and fixed everything ...
We have been with Regent over 100 nights. In general we were treated like children and pushed around for tours, dining, the Mariner is poorly run in general. The management doesn't care and is openly hostile. This is the culture on this ship now and has never been the culture in the past. Our cruise was tremendously expensive and we did not have the advertised 6****** experience. Trouble on ...
Buenos Aries to Rio de Janeiro 10 night cruise. We arrived 2 days before departure to explore Buenos Aries. The ship put us up at the Alvear Palace Hotel. Wow! What a spectacular hotel. Highly recommend it. We booked a walking tour guide through the hotel. Great way to see part of the city and hear the interesting history. The cemetery "village" is a must. If you enjoy steak and a hip ...
I was a little concerned when I read bad reviews of Mariner: poor service, poor food, outdated suites. The only thing correct in those reviews was the outdated suites, which are scheduled for refurbishment in March 2018.
Overall service was superb. Restuarant service was excellent. All specialty restaurants were excellent, with Prime 7 serving up the best steak (a bone-in ribeye) that I’ve ...
