Food poor quality and ship in need of an update

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Mariner of the Seas

The MDR service was good but the food was just not edible. The saving grace was the dessert. My mom ordered a NY steak strip medium, however it was more like a skirt steak and it was well done and tough. I ordered chicken on two nights and both nights the chicken texture and flavor was not good. Even for breakfast our toast was not toasted, it was still soft. My daughter ordered the free ...

Royal Caribbean was a Royal Flush (not the poker kind)

Review for a Bahamas Cruise on Allure of the Seas

We chose this cruise as a "get our feet wet" family cruise, and it was also our oldest sons senior high school cruise. He is 17 and we have 2 other boys 9 and 16. Boarding went smooth and we were all excited to see this magnificent ship up close - once we boarded, the entire ship smelled like a port-a-potty - YUK - so Allure smelled a lot like manure - but eventually that went away, and we ...

Food was horrible. Beds were very uncomfortable

The food on Royal Caribbean has declined from my past experiences. The staff was great at the dining room but the quality of the food was terrible. I didn’t eat my food most nights and resorted to the pizza later on. It was better than most of the food in the dining room and the buffet was even worse. Usually we only go to the dining room bc it’s been great in the past. Besides the quality of the ...

It was okay...

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Norwegian Escape

This was my seventh cruise and my fifth NCL cruise. We had a balcony room near the back of the boat on the 11th floor. The room was quiet and the room and balcony are exactly what I had expected of a newer large NCL or RCI ship, I've always discounted reviews of others when they posted negative reviews of food. I'm not a particularly 'foodie' type person. I will clarify my thoughts by saying ...

My Experience 2-3-24 to 2-8-24 Carnival Freedom

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Carnival Freedom

The Cruise was fun. The weather causing excursions to be cancelled was disappointing. We were refunded and understand the weather was not Carnivals fault but seeing in Turks there was just a drizzle we couldn’t understand and never received an explanation for why our excursion was cancelled or why we were just notified when we got to the excursion point leaving no chance to schedule something new. ...

Escape is not the ship for us...but still fun

This was our first time on one of NCL's larger ships - and may be our last. The layout of the Escape leaves something to be desired, because when ship is at full capacity it's hard to even walk properly on some decks. We spent over an hour trying to find just two chairs together on any deck on the sea days - and I'm not exaggerating. The atrium area gets so crowded for shows that you cannot even ...

Not the best Norwegian cruise I’ve been on

First, I will start with the things that we liked. My eight-year-old absolutely loves splash Academy. He begged to go there every time they open. Staff is great and they really love the kids. The waiters at the restaurants are very accommodating. We had a show to get to early in the evening and they were sure to get our food out quickly so that we were not late. The complimentary dining rooms had ...

Boarding was quick and easy. Buffet was NOT good, it wasn't much to choose from. Was able to get into our cabin by 1 pm luggage were there by 145 or so. The Oceanview cabin was a big disappointment. It was very small and the couch was disgusting I took picture of it.. COCOCAY was the best part even though the water was freezing we still had a wonderful time. Main dining food was boring. The menu ...

We took the Norwegian Escape on a one week Caribbean cruise with family members and had mixed success. First the positives : The onboard entertainment was exceptional, the staff were very friendly and very helpful, the meals were tasty with a lot of variety to choose from and the specialty restaurants were all excellent. Now the negatives that we feel we need to share : - don’t book your ...

while we knew that the ship was over booked and that there were many more children on board than usual, we were ok with it at first. Getting on board was a good experience as we are Platnium members with NCL. once onboard, we started running into the problems, parents letting their kids run lose while they sat at the bars, we were next to one group who were laughing wondering what all their kids ...
