Tried it but sadly not for me!

Review for a Canary Islands Cruise on Iona

Needs a complete re think on many of its services. Did a P&O 8 years ago and wasn't impressed but tried again to see how things have improved. Sadly I am unable to give a good review. Cabins are ok but if you don't put your sign on the door it won't be cleaned.. its apparently policy that staff can't go and clean unless you put a sign on your door... anyway.. you only get hand-wash, shower ...

After reading many bad reviews about Arvia,we had mixed feelings about getting onboard, but we always say let's make our cruise the best we can make it what ever happens. We have been on plenty of cruises with different cruise lines and plenty with P and O. We have to say we had a fantastic time ,yes it wasn't perfect ,but we didn't experience anything to really moan about.Food was of a good ...

Bed bugs on Iona

Review for a Europe - All Cruise on Iona

Travelled on Iona to Portugal, Canaries and Spain Cadiz cancelled and only 6 other port days. Far too many people for the space, everything always booked up, weather not the best and the ship struggled on these many long sea days. Doors to corridor service hatches opening and banging all night on several nights. To top it off found a live bed bug in room on last day, no bites or evidence of ...

Floating Wetherspoons

Review for a Canary Islands Cruise on Azura

The ship is very poor and needs a full refit. Lots of toilets out of order, hazard tape on floor, viruses on board. Main dining room up selling of food now if you want quality. Long wait for tables in evening. The buffet areas close when they want them to, mainly roast chicken diner and curry both lunch and evening meal, choice of food is very poor. The headliners team do provide good shows but ...

Disappointing trip

So to clarify this is my second cruise to begin, the service was poor and distasteful. the staff seemed disinterested rather serving they seem only to speak to each other and hide in corners. I get that, but with MSC servers are always there. They even straight up ignore you. there were some a few like three staff who were utterly amazing and a credit to the industry. entertainment: evening ...

Iona aka Butlins at Sea

Review for a Canary Islands Cruise on Iona

Cruise on Iona from Southampton to Canaries on a 2 week cruise after having been on the MSC Euribia the week before. I had my first cruise on the Azura in 2022. I had seen some reviews of the Iona described as Butlins at sea and my first impressions were that this was rubbish. However, by the second day, I realised they were absolutely right, it is definitely Butlins at sea and for a number of ...

Major drop in service levels

Review for a Caribbean - All Cruise on Arvia

We have been on Iona a number of times so as this is the sister ship, we expected a similar experience. So wrong there ! Also, the staff came over as uninterested, some were just downright rude. It did not make for a happy atmosphere which for me totally ruined the holiday. Lets start with food. On the Iona, the Olive Grove is Italian fare. Not on Arvia. My Ceasar salad starter was literally ...

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Azura

Have cruised many times, usually on P and O, this time we flew to Tenerife, cruised around Canaries, Madeira, mainland Spain, Sardinia, and Greece. We really enjoyed the ports, flights were good too. The staff on board Azura were lovely, very hard working and always willing to please. Our cabin was a balcony and light and airy, but showing its age. However, we found all the cutbacks took ...

Review for a Caribbean - All Cruise on Arvia

Having had a wonderful experience on Iona 18 months ago we wanted to check out Arvia going to the Caribbean. The experience started badly when we found out we were flying with Maleth Aero - an airline I have never heard of and if I had known this was the airline, it would have certainly put me off booking. The eight hour flight had no in flight entertainment or any duty free service. The ...
