Queen bed. Note the drawers on the right. They could not open the whole way because they were so close to the bed.

Worst cruise experience

Review for a Transpacific Cruise on Pacific Encounter

1. bathtub is mouldy, toilet smells like dirty public toilet. Made compliants but no improvement. 2. Everything on the ship aren’t being maintained and very dated, e.g. Pantry water tab (to wash hands) not working, not just one of them but every single one. 3. Staff need a lot more training, the worst customer service I have ever experienced on a cruise ship. E.g. in the Pantry, one of the ...

P&O Pacific Adventure- Tips incl Drinks Prices

Great cruise. Port visits were fantastic. Recommend preselecting the rotational dining in the restaurants, saves the hassle of booking the restaurants once onboard. Restaurant food ok, Angelo’s being the highlight. Dragon Lady was not that good. Definitely recommend Blanc de Blanc show - worth the extra cost. Shore tours cheaper when booked direct rather than via ship. Bingo has ...

Let down!

Let down greatly

We have cruised on PO Explorer a couple of times, this is our 8th Cruise in total. PO Adventure is the worst of the lot! The menu is repetitive in the main buffet area, the desserts were a 2/10 very hit and miss. The Dragon lady restaurant that use to be our favourite ia completely different, main stream Chinese food and not unique or interesting at all. Angelo's leaves a lot to be desired. The ...

Just got back from the Island Hopper itinerary with Pacific Encounter out of Brisbane December 2023. Travelling as a family (husband, wife and 2 kids aged 2 and 4). Grandma also came along and stayed in the adjoining room, although not connected internally. Our only other cruise was earlier this same year on Royal's Quantum of the Seas. I know comparing the 2 is like comparing apples and ...

P&O food downhill since Covid.

Unfortunately P&O have dropped the ball in the food area, tarnishing one of the reasons many of us enjoy cruising. This was our first cruise since Covid, having a couple with P&O prior and also another larger company. In the past we considered P&O food to be marginally better than the technically 'better' cruise line, but let down by the quality of entertainment. Now the entertainment is good ...

We choose the cruise because it was affordable , looked good, and going to part of the pacific I had heard of as being great to visit. Wife and I found the cabins just as we imagined. Small but had all we needed. Our door opened out onto a small balcony which gave lots of fresh air and a great view at sea. The food is really good. The pantry has plenty of variety. They change every day. You ...

Booked a 7 night cruise to the Pacific Islands from Brisbane early in the year and were looking forward to returning to the Pacific Islands in October 2023 but found out on the day of departure that we were going to Cairns due to Cyclone Nola, Bit of disappointment but can't help the weather, First time on Pacific Encounter and must say the ship was great, staff were excellent and very ...

Flawed but average

Firstly the bad. This was our 10th cruise and our first with P & O since 2013 Poor embarkation. We are in our 70's and were made to stand in queue for more than 90 minutes. We think P & O would have had enough practice to get it right by now. Our cabin toilet failed on four occasions. Thankfully it was fixed immediately. The hand wash soap in the rest rooms appears very watery. Watered down ...

Not bad, but some disappointments

Review for a South Pacific Cruise on Pacific Encounter

This was our first experience with P&O Australia and our expectations were not high. The 10 night cruise was to Papua New Guinea and consisted of four ports and six sea days. This cruise was sold out. Before we departed Brisbane Cruise Terminal the captain announced that due to civil unrest in Rabaul we would no longer be visiting that port. We were looking forward to Rabaul as this seemed to ...
