"Hopes for good weather as we headed westward were answered with two days hot sunshine at sea until we hit a fog bank on the second afternoon. In summary, the ship was in good order generally, the staff are efficient and helpful (our steward was also excellent) and the Palladium theatre shows from the resident company were very good, the final one, on a circus theme, was tremendous, with a life-size walking elephant!..."Read More
We have been cruising now for many years and in that time have encountered many events at sea. When choosing a cruise in November from Southampton it is likely we will experience some inclement weather ( it is Autumn/Winter after all ). Storm Ciaran was one such event that kept us in port ( and safe ) for 2 extra days thus impacting the remainder of the trip and missing 3 ports. However, as a ...
My wife and I have been on 25 Cunard cruises and just three on other lines, one on the P&O Iona with the family, so were interested to compare Arcadia with Queen Victoria and Elizabeth. In summary, the ships and their feel are similar, the major differences being the upper decks being accessible on Arcadia but limited to "Grills" class guests on Cunard, so this gives more venues and open deck ...
The cruise was chosen as my partner had been on the ship several times before.
The fist statement I will make is the captain whilst he made the right decisions on the seaman ship of the boat a captain of a cruise linner should be more than that. Tne cruise was a 19 Day cruise in the Med. 1st 2 & 3rd day was spent in Southampton due to the weather Correct decision. But 2 ports were cancelled ...
Food repetitive in more ways than one.
Real friendly cabin with towel sharing.
Once they have you on board they don't want to let you off.
Was not informed until the ship was under way that Nova virus is running rampant throughout ship even though we spent 3 days in Southampton because of bad weather.
The Crew stud over you like we were children to make sure you wash your donnies and ...
We've been cruising exclusively with P&O for the past ten years. The latest cruise was to the Med from Southampton. I really like P&O but post COVID the quality of service does make me question if we will cruise with them again.
We accept that the acute gastroenteritis outbreak didn't help matters (we later found out that there was also COVID cases but these were not mentioned on the 1800 ...
Cruise chosen for interesting ports of call. Last on this ship 15 yrs ago. apart from a few theatre productions the overall entertainment was poor, there were more quizzes on this ship on a daily basis than ever before. One busker left the ship but not replaced mid cruise. Pianists only played for 45 min each session. Everything was very repetitive ( even the quiz questions). No appearance of the ...
We chose this cruise because it went to a few ports we hadn't visited before, and it was at a time (April) when we thought the weather would be good but not too hot. We have sailed with P&O 6 times before and 3 of those on Arcadia, and have always enjoyed ourselves. Not on this occasion. We were surprised when our Cabin Steward advised us there was no evening turn-down and that he wasn't ...
We have sailed with P&O several times on Arcadia and Azura and always enjoyed ourselves. There is usually a good speaker programme, quirky things to do and see (vegetable carving!), bring lessons and sessions on sea days and generally good food. We chose this cruise for the itinerary - going to places we hadn't been to before. It was obvious when we met our cabin steward that things had changed ...
My wife and I went on the Arcadia Christmas cruise to Norway and Denmark on 19th December 2019. We have not been on this ship before but have been on other P&O ships. I do not know how this ship gets bad reviews, mind you looking at some of the passengers I don't think they would enjoy anything.
The ship was clean and tidy and well decorated for Christmas. Yes there are a few paint chips and ...
My wife and I have been regular passengers with P&O over the last 9 years having just completed out twentieth cruise. In August we sailed on the Arcadia and I have to say that there were a lot of things wrong with the ship. We have seen standards fall over the years but the situation is becoming critical.
Where has all the serving staff gone? There are nowhere near enough waiters in the bars ...
