Wouldn't Sail Again

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Norwegian Getaway

Dining: There appears to be a variety of dining options but it feels like they serve the same food with different presentation. The food itself is alright but they ran out of hash browns on the third or fourth day and never resupplied. Also either ran out of Drambuie and Shiraz or never had it on board at all despite both items still being on the menu. The beer selection was uninspired and the ...

False Advertising about Ports/Excursions

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Norwegian Getaway

I chose this cruise because of the ports it advertised to visit: Paris, Bordeaux, Brussels and Amsterdam, also included Hamburg. Once I booked and tried to get excursions, I was told they were full, no longer available. For Paris, I had to book with an outside travel site because they had nothing available. During the cruise, they canceled on the actual day 3 excursions to Brussels, Hamburg and ...

Never Faile to DISAPPOINT

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Norwegian Getaway

I have been on quite a few cruises and never had poor enough experiences to feel the need to write a review to inform others of what they might be getting into, until now. With other cruise lines, they personalize your experience and make you feel welcomed aboard like you are part of their family and they have been expecting you. This was not the case with Norwegian. They could NOT care less about ...

What a joke.

Honestly I had high hopes for this cruise but after, I can say I am beyond disappointed. From the activities provided all the way down to not being on time for port, and then canceling our last day. All the fun activities you have to PAY for, even though you bought the tickets to be on the ship. The free open activities consist of the ropes course and water slides/pool, which are outside and since ...

NCL - What happened?

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Norwegian Getaway

This was my third NCL cruise and I pretty much knew what I thought I was getting into- but the itinerary was so good as well as the price that ten of us signed up. First the problems with the ship, The Getaway, it seemed nice at first and our inside cabin was better than expected. Within the first day of a sixteen day cruise you realize the ship has major shortcomings. There is absolutely no ...

Disappointing

Horrible ! Horrible! The intinerary was amazing and the only saving grace for this cruise. The ship was horrible. Unorganized. Poor customer service. Food OK. Most stressful cruise I have ever taken. Stood in que for 1 hour in windy and cold weather before getting on a tender. Could find no NCL staff to talk to. When we noticed them, they were away from crowd gathered together. Noisy ...

Big ship was a big mistake

This was our second cruise. The first was also with Norwegian and went well. Ship arrived on time, docked in places suitable for an easy visit in port. We foolishly thought that was how all cruises might work. Not on the Getaway, which was a mess from the start. Our room was opposite a crew exit, which was left open so that any drunk passenger could use at 2am or 3am. I eventually had to sleep on ...

Unorganized from start to finish

We picked this trip for the itinerary. With 25+ cruises under our belt we never cruised a mega ship. Never again. Lines, lines and more lines. Waited one hour for a show at Syd Norman's. Never got in because it was too crowded.Miami port was a disaster. Mob action mentality. Took 2 hours to have lunch. And even in New Orleans, our luggage was piled all together without any rows to access it. ...

NCL DOESN'T CARE ABOUT ITS PASSENGERS

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Norwegian Getaway

User Avatar

It was obvious that NCL management cares only about how much money they can make. For example, the ship stopped in Miami for only a few hours and took on fuel and provisions there. Every passenger had to go through Customs and Immigration and the line took a minimum of three hours to get off and back on. Then they blamed Customs for the delay when the stop was obviously only to benefit the ...

Terrible lines, noise and crowds.

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Norwegian Getaway

The lines, noise and crowds were terrible. For example, the organization of the immigration clearance in Miami was terrible and unforgivable. We shuffled in line for an hour and a half, for no reason, to get to the immigration desk. I calculated about 400 people in the queue in the main bay alone. Why, when they were only processing about five people per minute? Why run a line from the ...
