We chose this cruise to try the NCL brand, the itinerary, and felt at the time, it was a good price. We enjoyed the size of our cabin and the view. We were in an accessible cabin (137** forward) due to my husband having mobility issues. With that being said, we were too far from the elevators and with items almost always left in the narrow hallways, my husband had to fold up his walker many times ...
Overall, a wonderful cruise.
Biggest complaints: they hold their most popular entertainment in small venues where hundreds of people are turned away. The comedians and the rock band specifically. You need to stand in line well over an hour to have any chance of getting a seat. On the other hand, their "stage shows" held in the big Broadway Theatre were not well attended because they were 1) ...
First the pros; the show, the Million Dollar Quartet was really good. The staff was mostly friendly and helpful and the ship was very clean and modern. There are small dining rooms that are included which was nice. We only ate in the main dining room once. They had full-service lunch each day so you didn't have to eat at the buffet.
Now the cons; The layout of the ship was terrible, we were ...
My husband and friends decided to go on a couples cruise. The cruise embarked from Port Canaveral, FL on June 27, 2022. My cruise package included the premium food and drink package for both myself and my husband. Right after boarding the ship we decided to go for a drink. At the first bar we visited, the bartender charged me $12 for my drink stating we did not have the drink package on our ...
We chose this cruise to coincide with our grandchildren's spring break from high school in snowy Colorado! We also chose it because they sailed free!
They both REALLY enjoyed their cruise and we REALLY enjoyed them! They were the perfect age for grandparents to cruise with! They are self sufficient, they loved having their own keycards and the ability to go grab a bite and/or a beverage by ...
Overall a great cruise. Pre testing start to finish took about 1hr. In line to go in was packed, (bumper to bumper), inside for tests, stations were extremely tight, then went to waiting area for results, (given card with time on it) to get in final line to get wrist band, then went through security area to boarding area. Our arrival time was between 10:30-11 got to pier at 11on Getaway ...
Very disappointed in this cruise. Cabin was so so hard to get around the veranda was small. We did have a wonderful cabin boy.
Found the main dining room lacking in food and its presentation was quite boring.enjoyed the specialty restaurants had entertainment twice and it was very good rest of entertainment was average. Nothing you couldn't live with out.my husband had a scooter which we were ...
We were the last cruise before the COVID started. This was my 6th cruise (2nd on Norwegian). First I must say the cruise line did an exceptional job of keeping the ship clear & cruisers safe. (All public restroom doors open, servers at the buffet, no salt/pepper, cream/sugar on tables, etc.) The reason for this review - The Norwegian Getaway is the most poorly designed ship I have ever been on. ...
I had been watching cruise pricing for a Spring Break cruise out of Galveston or NOLA for sometime. When NCL added the 3rd and 4th free perk the price dropped a ton and I pulled the trigger on the Getaway cruise for my family of four. We had done this itinerary before out of NOLA on the Dawn and loved it. We convinced another family to join us so it was a group of 8 on this trip. We all ended ...
The Getaway is a fantastic ship for 2300 people. The problem is they put 4000 on it...
In no particular order:
The HVAC system onboard seemed overwhelmed in the common areas and in the cabins it seemed they worked better or worse from day to day. The "atrium" (really just a large hole in the deck between 6 and 7) was the worst, but then again, it was always packed full of people. It was ...
