Best vacation we've been on

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Norwegian Getaway

We chose this cruise to get away from our cold weather and see a part of the world we've never been to. The negative reviews (and we heard plenty on board also) are just so sad to hear. I only ate at the buffet twice, but my husband had breakfast there often and was pleased. The food was lovely in Taste, Savor, and the Tropicana. Sure it gets chaotic and you have to wait when you have ...

Great Cruise With INCREDIBLE Staff!

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Norwegian Getaway

I just got back from my 10 day cruise aboard the NCL Getaway, sailing from New York City to Puerto Plata, San Juan, St. Thomas and Tortola from February 6-10 2024. The ship was beautiful and had incredible dining, great bars, fantastic entertainment and a best-in-it’s-class staff! I’m seeing some negative reviews out there, but I really don’t understand how those people could possibly see anything ...

Great cruise with a dark side.

We won a cruise for two through the casino, and it was wonderful. You had the typical elderly farts acting all doom and gloom, and the five dollar millionaires acting as though they have class, but after navigating through that, we made the best out of it. I highly recommend NCL and Getaway. The spa was great, the food was excellent. The specialty restaurants were fine, but the ...

Chose this cruise to get away for a bit and go someplace warm. This cruise is sandwiched in between an iceland cruise already sailed and an alaskan cruise for next year. Also wanted to see Bermuda as I have not been there. Even though our itinerary was reversed and we ended up missing the stop in Bermuda because of weather the overall experience was above average. The shows, live music, and food ...

Great food, great shows!

We did this cruise for there were lots of places to visit we did not know yet, Naples, Palermo and Syracuse on Sicily, Corfu, and Dubrovnik, Split en Rijeka in Croatia. We only had one sea day, so that was nice. The Getaway is a big ship so on the day at sea breakfast time was very crowded. We had a balcony cabin 8738 and the balcony was large, we had two chairs and a small table and two sunbeds! ...

Excellent cruise-all worries overstated

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Norwegian Getaway

We took our first transatlantic cruise and had two rooms for a family of seven. We haven’t cruised since before Covid. Based on the reviews I was quite worried. Concerns were all overstated. I am at a loss for all the negative reviews. As far as I can tell, some people just cannot create their own fun. I was worried about overcrowding. Nothing of the sort. Granted, it was a transatlantic ...

Smiles and frowns on our getaway on the GETAWAY

This is our fourth cruise with NCL (Majesty, Epic, Bliss, Getaway) and we have another five already booked for the future. We love NCL because of the value, the unlimited drink package, the freestyle dining, no unexpected charges, the Latitudes program and so much more. We just became Gold -- we're a little disappointed in how little the benefits increase between Silver and Gold, but we won’t be ...

For our first cruise, the Norwegian Getaway exceeded our expectations in terms of size, the many amenities and the inclusion of the Free at Sea promotion. It was so nice to not worry about extra charges for food and beverages during our time at sea. The food at the buffet and Tropicana was hot and fresh with options for everyone. We had no problem keeping busy with the activities and ...

Not perfect, but would do it again

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Norwegian Getaway

Chose this itinerary for our first cruise because the southeastern Caribbean islands tend to be more 'tropical', so I've always wanted to go there. The weather was absolutely perfect for the entire 10 days. Not sure how Norwegian arranged that, but kudos to them. ;-) We had a Club Balcony Suite, which is not actually a suite, nor is it in any sort of club. It was bigger than a standard balcony ...

Determined to Have a Great Vacation

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Norwegian Getaway

This was our first vacation without kids in a long time and my husband and I were determined to go with the flow and not let anything ruin this trip. Our room steward told us that the ship was full with around 4,100 guests on board. The Getaway was repositioned from New York in April so when it pulled into dock at Port Canaveral it had been empty for two days. That made for a smooth embarkation ...
