Getaway, March 18th - the Good, the Bad and the Ugly
"I booked about 4 weeks prior and only saw the change in Orlando from overnight to just a day (which I was happy with but felt bad for those who strategically planned Disney trips).I had booked this before I even boarded knowing we had 4 sea days on this sail, and that Orlando and Nassau were not ports I was interested in getting off at...."Read More

Never again

Review for a Bermuda Cruise on Norwegian Getaway

Main dining room food terrible, long waits. Specially dining, food and staff very good. Have to beg for ice for the room , even after tipping Stewart when we came on board, They use to just put ice in your room at night. The Weather conditions changed our itinerary, not their fault. But I tried to cancel an excursion, I found out the Cavens had over 100 steps, since I bought the tickets awhile ...

This cruise is my 23rd cruise (not all with NCL), it is my first post pandemic cruise with NCL. Our cruise to Bermuda was a much needed vacation. Booked an Aft Balcony (no regrets there). Embarkation: Received an email the night before not to arrive at my 9:30 am scheduled check in time :( but rather between 3pm and 6pm. This was upsetting as I always consider my cruise to have started the ...

Just letting anyone going on the getaway know we got to visit bermuda 1.5 days and spent the rest on the ship. We hit the worst weather going down- people vomiting everywhere- all over the ship- 28 foot swells and 75 mph winds. That mammoth ship was jumping out of the water- only to leave bermuda early and crawl home… less than 10 knots per hr and arriving in nyc early. The time didn’t add up. ...

Gone downhill in last 10 years

Received a text while already in nyc saying there was a technical error with the ship preventing the prior cruise from getting to port on-time. My 10am check in was changed to 3-6pm. The lines were horrible, stood in the line for over 3 hours with no bathroom accessibility or seats. I'm on water pills due to a medical issue and was so uncomfortable but I didn't dare to step out of line. People ...

First Cruise - mixed thoughts

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Norwegian Getaway

This was our first ever cruise. We have traveled many times to resorts in Mexico, Cuba, DR and can only compare those experiences to the cruise. Chose to do a cruise for a new experience and to see countries we have not traveled to. We were a family of 3 - 2 adults and 1 teenager. I watched countless cruise review videos ahead of our trip and felt I was very well prepared. I am now ...

We had never cruised with NCL before and heard lots of great things about this cruise line from friends. This however was not the cruise to have people rave about NCL. We will start with the end first. The ship was delayed getting back into port by 5 hours. The disembarkation was a complete mess, with lines and almost no staff to be seen. People were not following assigned times which created ...

Lacking The Feel of a Luxury Cruise

Vacation - Cruising

Our favorite vacation is a cruise and have found in the past NCL to be to our liking as we have never encountered any issues until recently. Food, if we hadn't purchased the specialty dining packages (four in total) we would have been very disappointed as the food in the general dining restaurants was very bland and lacked any special flare. On board entertainment and service was very ...

I chose to go on Norwegian getaway because I had went a few years prior and the experience was a good one. I decided to take a trip with two of my friends January 27, 2024 not knowing what we were walking into. The staff along with the people vacationing on the boat were not the nicest, this was a 10 day cruise and after being on for a few days and talking to multiple people, we found out that ...

The good and the bad

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Norwegian Getaway

This ship is big and the reviews weren’t great but I found the food very good with lots of variety and fresh fruit. The shows were excellent but the bad did not outweigh the good. The ship is noisy with no place to sit and read. There was not much to do on sea days, in the evenings there were shows but in the daytime it was just drinking and gambling which I don’t do. We missed the Bermuda ...
