(3:37 p.m. EDT) -- Silversea has revealed select summer 2020 and winter 2021 itineraries, including the maiden voyages of its next new ship, Silver Moon. The itineraries are available for Venetian Society members (Silversea's past passengers) to book early; bookings open to the public on October 1, 2018.
Silver Moon will spend its maiden season in the Mediterranean. The ship departs on its inaugural cruise, from Trieste to Civitavecchia/Rome, on August 6, 2020. It will voyage around the Western and Eastern Mediterranean, until November 8, when it will depart Barcelona, cross the Atlantic and arrive in Fort Lauderdale 15 days later.
For Silver Moon's itineraries and other newly announced cruises, all passengers will receive free economy-class airfare and transfers -- a first for Silversea.
Other new itinerary highlights include:
- Overnights: Specifically, all Europe and Canada/New England cruises longer than a week will feature an overnight stay.
- More options in Europe: Five ships will sail 54 cruises in the Mediterranean, and four will sail 29 cruises in Northern Europe.
- Polar cruises: Silversea will offer 10 Arctic itineraries and 11 Antarctic itineraries, including visits to the UNESCO World Heritage sites of New Zealand's sub-Antarctic islands and Australia's Macquarie Island, and concurrent crossings of the Northwest Passage (Silver Cloud) and Northeast Passage (Silver Explorer)
- Northern highlights: Silversea will base three ships in Alaska and the Russia Far East, offering 21 voyages. It will also feature a range of options in Iceland, including a nine-night circumnavigation of the island on Silver Wind.
