(1:45 p.m. EST) -- Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line's newest ship, 1,680-passenger Grand Classica, will feature eight dining options, two pools, a main theater and two smaller theaters, a spa and salon, and kids club.
The cruise line announced the purchase of the ship, the former Costa neoClassica, back in December 2017. It last went through a dry dock in October 2017 to improve infrastructure, along with refurbishments and improvements executed by Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line.
"Grand Classica complements Grand Celebration nicely," said Oneil Khosa, CEO of Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line (BPCL). "There are several additional public spaces -- so we are excited to add some new offerings, as well as bring all the popular outlets that we have on Grand Celebration."
Grand Classica has 10 passenger decks, with all public spaces located on Decks 8 through 14. Each deck has been named after an island of the Bahamas (Deck 5 is Bimini; Deck 8 is Abacos.) Accommodations include 10 suites, two junior suites, 430 ocean-view cabins and 216 inside rooms. Only suites have balconies.
Grand Classica will have eight dining options:
Yellow Elder: The ship's main dining room is named after the national flower of the Bahamas. Two seating times will be offered, as well as a MyTime Dining option for those who prefer a more flexible schedule.
Admiral's Steak & Seafood: Also featured on Grand Celebration, the line's signature specialty restaurant offers a five-course gourmet meal with a menu that features fresh seafood and various steak cuts.
The Rock Grill: A new-to-BPCL interactive dining experience, The Rock Grill is located outside on Deck 10 aft. Here diners get to cook their meat tableside on a lava rock grill or can order The Bull specialty burgers (already offered on Grand Celebration), which combines premium meats with chef-created burger pairings.
A Slice Above: A new concept for lunch and dinner on Deck 9, serving Italian fare, including flat breads, calzones and build-your-own pizzas.
Grand Cafe: Mirroring Grand Celebration's newly introduced Grand Cafe, this specialty coffee and gelato bar will also offer a variety of hot and iced specialty coffees, teas, smoothies and freshly-squeezed juices. In the morning, cruisers will also be able to choose from a variety of pastries, muffins and quiche, while throughout the day, the Grand Cafe will offer a range of sweet treats, including homemade gelato, sorbet, cakes, tarts, cupcakes and chocolate truffles.
Crow's Nest Sports Bar & Grill: A new concept for Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line, this venue sits atop Deck 14 on Grand Classica and will be the place to watch sports games on numerous large screen TVs. The menu will feature a selection of beer, cocktails and classic pub fare. Also on offer will be a variety of pub games including pool, darts, skee-ball and vintage arcade games.
Ocean View Buffet: The complimentary buffet located on Deck 10 will serve breakfast, lunch, dinner and late-night snacks.
Room Service: Free room service will be available throughout the day; cruisers can also choose to order The Bull specialty burgers from room service, priced a la carte.
Legends Grand Theater: The two-level theater is located on Decks 8 and 9 and is where cruisers will find Vegas-style song-and-dance shows, along with comedy shows.
Para-A-Dice Casino: Located on Deck 9, the ship's casino will offer a wide range of slot machines and table games.
Encore Lounge: The spot for live music and a drink, the Encore Lounge, is located on Deck 8 and features a central stairway that leads to A Slice Above and the Grand Cafe.
Regal Room: One of the most popular venues on Grand Celebration, this lounge will feature a large bar and stage for live music and entertainment.
Main Pool: The ship's main pool features a large pool surrounded by lounge chairs; the adjacent Plunge Bar serves beverages and specialty cocktails.
The Oasis: Grand Classica's adults-only area features an aft pool, two whirlpools and a bar on Deck 11.
Jogging Track: The jogging track is located one deck above the main pool.
Indulgence Spa, Fitness Center and Salon: The spa and salon will offer massages, facials, skin treatments and more, while the ocean-view fitness center will have a wide range of fitness equipment and free weights.
Kruzers Kid's Club: Trained youth counselors will offer free activities for children, ages 3 to 17.
Other features include an 80-person conference room, Internet lounge and card room, several retail outlets, and a photo gallery.
Grand Classica will begin sailing on April 13 -- making Bahamas Paradise the only cruise line to offer daily departures to Grand Bahama Island from the Port of Palm Beach.
"Having two ships sailing daily to Grand Bahama Island will also give our guests the flexibility and convenience to take advantage of a two-night getaway any day of the week," Khosa said. "Our daily departures also add a number of options to our unique Cruise & Resort Stay offering, with guests able to add any number of nights at a Grand Bahama Island hotel."
