(12:18 p.m. EST) -- Regent Seven Seas Cruises has named its next new luxury cruise ship Seven Seas Splendor. The 750-passenger ship is scheduled to debut in the first quarter of 2020.

Regent reached out to past passengers, travel agents and employees to help the line come up with ideas for the new ship's name. The line received more than 14,000 submissions, suggesting almost 2,600 discrete names. Three people who entered names will be randomly chosen to win a free trip on Splendor's maiden voyage.

Seven Seas Splendor will be a twin to Seven Seas Explorer, the line's largest and most luxurious ship currently sailing. Like its sister, it will have all-suite, all-balcony accommodations, multiple dining venues and inclusive fares.
