(12:55 p.m. EST) – Carnival Cruise Line has rolled out Fly2Fun, a new air booking option that makes it easy to add flights for upcoming cruises booked on Carnival.com.

Immediately after completing a cruise booking on Carnival.com, passengers can secure their air arrangements via Fly2Fun, choosing from either Carnival's Flexible or Restricted Fares. Restricted Fares are non-refundable and require payment within two hours of booking, while Flexible Fares don't require payment until the final payment date of the cruise itself, and can be changed up to 60 days prior to departure free of charge.

Carnival says Fly2Fun will offer competitive prices, as well as flight protection in the event of flight disruptions. Should something go wrong Carnival will handle all necessary arrangements for passengers to join the ship at the next port of call in the event they miss embarkation.

Carnival has traditionally relied heavily on "drive-to" homeports throughout the United States, with a large percentage of its passengers electing to drive, not fly, to get on a cruise. But with new itineraries in Europe and one of its brand new ships positioned in California, there are more reasons for cruisers to choose to fly to their Carnival ship.

"At Carnival, we strive to make working with us as seamless as possible -- from the time you book until you're on your way home -- our professional travel specialists are able to secure alternative travel arrangements in the event of airline schedule and cruise itinerary changes, providing our guests with peace of mind," said Carnival's director of travel operations Vicky Blanch.

Fly2Fun bookings can be managed online through Carnival's "My Cruise Manager" portal. Air arrangements are available from major airports across the U.S., Canada, the Caribbean, Mexico, Central and South America, and Europe.
