(8.40 a.m. AEST) – Princess Cruises celebrated the arrival of its first new ship of the summer cruise season with the maiden arrival of Ruby Princess into Sydney this morning.
The 3,080 guest ship is the first sailing locally with OceanMedallion technology, and offers revamped dining and entertainment options plus plenty of “classic Princess” highlights.
Michelin Star Chef Curtis Stone welcomed Ruby Princess to the ship’s new Sydney homeport by using his Princess OceanMedallion to activate a ruby red fireworks display as the ship entered the harbour.
Guests can use OceanMedallion technology for things such as expedited check-in, ordering food, drinks and more, keyless stateroom entry, and locating friends and family onboard.
Ruby Princess arrives in Australia with a new six-course fine dining menu designed by Chef Stone for his onboard restaurant SHARE. The Trident Grill has also been revamped to the Salty Dog Grill with a new design and expanded menu offerings, including Princess Cruises’ first Street Tacos.
