(12:45 p.m. EDT) -- Luxury line Regent Seven Seas Cruises will offer a program of new excursions on its 2020 Alaska sailings. The new "Inside Alaska - Luxury Goes Exploring" adventures will be included on all voyages next year on 700-passenger Seven Seas Mariner.

"...we are bringing the destination to life onboard Seven Seas Mariner with unforgettable raptors, renowned folk singers, Tlingit historians, and cuisine and culture unique to the destination," said Jason Montague, president and CEO of Regent. "...we are also enhancing shore excursions with new ... local tours and other engagements led by residents."

On shore, Regent is introducing a number of brand-new "Go Local" tours in Juneau, Ketchikan, Skagway, Sitka and Wrangell that will be led by local residents and showcase what life in these Alaskan ports of call is all about. The excursions range from a look at Juneau's food scene to the Tlingit history of Ketchikan.

Noteworthy are Regent's Alaska programs designed exclusively for younger cruisers. Passengers ages 7 to 17 can participate in Regent's Club Mariner program on special outings accompanied by Club Mariner counselors in Ketchikan, Juneau, Sitka and Icy Strait Point. These include a walking tour to the Raptor Center and Sheldon Jackson Museum in Sitka, a campfire and tribal dance in Icy Strait Point, a tour of Ketchikan's famous totem parks, and a city tour with a visit to the salmon hatchery in Juneau.

Select sailings will also feature destination experts who will lecture on a variety of topics while onboard. These speakers include Juneau native and Tlingit tribe member Lily Hope; Skagway local and entertainer Steve Hites; and Amelia Wilson, vice-mayor of Hoonah, the traditional Tlingit village located near Icy Strait Point.
