(10:03 a.m. EST) -- Seabourn's first-ever expedition cruise ship will be named Seabourn Venture, the line revealed this morning in an
, which also included a new rendering of the ship.The name Venture stems from the line's Ventures by Seabourn program, through which more adventurous Zodiac, kayak, catamaran and hiking tours are offered by an expedition team on select cruises and itineraries.Seabourn Venture, scheduled for delivery in June 2021, will carry 24 Zodiacs and a fleet of kayaks, as well as two submarines. Every sailing also will have a 26-person expedition team comprised of wilderness experts, scientists, historians and naturalists to lead tours and enrichment.As previously reported by Cruise Critic, Seabourn Venture and its yet-to-be-named sister ship due in May 2022 each will carry up to 264 passengers in 132 balcony suites, and feature a PC6 Polar Class design enabling them to sail in Antarctica and the Arctic. The line also recently revealed the ships will boast 2,750 square meters (roughly 29,600 square feet) of open deck space.Seabourn Venture is slated to begin sailing the Arctic in late summer 2021, followed by a full season in Antarctica. Itineraries for the second expedition ship have not yet been revealed.
