(12:30 p.m. EDT) -- Princess Cruises has pulled back the curtain from the new French restaurant it has developed in partnership with three-Michelin chef Emmanuel Renaut, revealing both the design and menu. The restaurant will be one of several dining options on Sky Princess, scheduled to debut in October 2019.

La Mer will be a casual, bistro-style venue in the ship's Piazza atrium. It will feature a design and menu inspired by the French Alps, where Renaut's Flocons de Sel restaurant is located. The at-sea French restaurant first debuted on the line's China-based ship, Majestic Princess, in 2017.

"It's been an honor to collaborate with Chef Renaut again to develop a fresh and new menu for La Mer on Sky Princess and showcase his authentically crafted French dishes for the first time to our North American guests," said Rai Caluori, Princess' executive vice president of guest experience and product development. "Chef Renaut's culinary artistry and passion to deliver an unforgettable French dining experience at La Mer will be savored by each Sky Princess guest who delights in his exquisite fresh dishes."

For Sky Princess, Renaut has developed all-new dishes that cater to the North American market. Among them will be a beef filet mignon with sweet onion saute, red wine jus and hand-cut fries; red snapper and scallop mousseline, with lobster morsels and lemon grass lobster sauce; and Mont Blanc, a sweet chestnut dessert with blueberry gel and vanilla cream bavarois, inspired by the highest peak in the Alps.

"I'm delighted to introduce La Mer to more Princess Cruises guests aboard Sky Princess," said Chef Renaut. "The new La Mer dishes I've designed for Sky Princess are inspired to satisfy every palate by bringing retro French classics and blending favorite ingredients with fresh and unique touches to make each dish memorable."

La Mer will have a cover charge of $35 per person. The restaurant also will be added to the line's next new ship, Enchanted Princess, which arrives in summer 2020.
