Embarked at Newcastle without problem, good direction to drop off area, very friendly and welcoming staff at every point. Straight through the check in and onto the ship within about 20 minutes. Excellent starting point for us up north, the main reason we booked this cruise as we travelled with parents in their 80's who find airports a challenge.

We chose this cruise because of its itinery. An eclectic mix of Northern Europe (Belgium, France and Ireland) and the warmth of Spain, Portugal and Gibraltar. To that end we thoroughly enjoyed the destinations and would do a similar itinery again anytime.

We are retired,we holiday at least 6 times a year and at the Glasgow cruise show in 2016 we were taken in by this cruise as it was somewhere we had wanted to go for years it sailed from a port only 90 miles from our home and we had a free few week, so why not!. Decided to do this cruise as goes from Newcastle, easy to get to for us. Loved the Fjords, very scenic and loved the places we docked in. Norway is very expensive though, we were warned about this so no surprise, we did not spend much money in Norway!

We saw everything we hoped we would see and it was lovely. However, the ship itself was very poor. Within an hour of boarding the Captain informed us that there was a "level 3 sanitation" in progress. We soon discovered this meant complete shut down of swimming pools, saunas, jacuzzi, games room and laundrette. My boyfriend and I booked our trip rather last minute and booked a lot of excursions too online before we left. On arrival at Newcastle port, it was a little confusing for us where we had to go as there was a queue to drop off your luggage which you had to do first, before you proceeded to a check in signposted building - easily sorted no big deal

This was our third cruise with Thomsons. We first sailed on this ship 8 years ago around the Canary Islands - a pleasant time enjoyed by all. Earlier this year we enjoyed a week onboard the Spirit around the Eastern Med area, again quite a pleasant voyage including the Thomson flight from the UK.
