We have sailed primarily on Princess and Celebrity. This was our first cruise on HAL and the Eurodam. Very impressed with the ship, service and ports of call. This cruise was "billed" as a Fall Colors Cruise, but it was not until we got to Quebec did we see the first Fall colors, but can't blame a late season on HAL. Overall, we were very impressed with the service on the Eurodam, both room ...
We have cruised with Princess and Celebrity within the past three years, and before that NCL and transatlantic on Cunard. This was our first time to cruise on HAL and we were very pleased with the experience aboard the Eurodam. We were in Cabin 6113 on the starboard side, which due to the configuration of the ship has both larger cabin space and veranda space (as does the equivalent cabin on the ...
We had never cruised on Holland American Line before; we normally sail on Celebrity. However, since the New England/Canadian cruise dates and ports fit our schedule, we decided to give them a try. After reading another review, I had a hard time believing that we had sailed on the same ship and the same date.
We arrived for the cruise in New York City around 11:45 a.m. and probably waited a ...
Sailed out of New York, embarkation was flawless, checked in and on the ship in under one hour of arrival. We were invited to a Mariner embarkation brunch which was very nice. After the brunch we went to our aft cabin on the Rotterdam deck. I was very pleased with the aft cabin and would definitely book one again, the views were terrific.
We enjoyed some great and not so great weather, ...
We arrived in New York two days prior to the cruise. Stayed at the Sheraton New York in Midtown. Very nice hotel but in a noisy location. We stayed at the Hilton on 6th Ave and 53rd St. a few years ago and its quiet compared to the Sheraton.
Embarkation: We arrived at the terminal before noon and after two we were on the Eurodam - something regarding the computers - at least there was no ...
We were on the 10/11 Canadian cruise. The trip was eventful only due to the weather, the captain did a great job keeping us safe and sound.
The room was clean, the linens were nice and clean as was the bathroom. We felt like it was a very nice setup, the room was quiet which I didn't expect on a ship. Our stewards were attentive and proactive.
The food was great, and yes the Italian ...
We stayed 4 nights pre-cruise at "Jewel Hotel" across from Rockefeller Center. Great little boutique type hotel, very modern, had ample room for the 3 of us-including a chair that pulled out into a bed. Water station on every floor where they have bottles to re-fill every day. Also have a small gym and free washer/dryer to use. Included free wifi and computers on 2nd floor. Could walk ...
We decided to take a late September vacation in July and found that a guaranteed "N" category inside cabin was $499 per person! For a 10-day cruise we thought that was pretty sweet. At that price, we even talked our neighbors into going with us.Approximately two weeks before embarkation, we were upgraded to category "J" on main deck forward. That was a pleasant surprise as for $50 pp per day we ...
We stayed at the Casablanca Hotel in New York it was very good, close to Times Square yet quiet inside. There were four of us on this cruise my wife & myself plus my friend and his wife.A short taxi ride to the ship. But checking took over one hour, not enough staff & the ones that were there chatted with us too much. We booked over a year in advance through our local travel agent & several times ...
I caught a red eye (llpm) out of Seattle ..via Cleveland..the night before sailing time at 5pm the next day in the Big Apple August 27, 2009.
Within 10 minutes of stepping off the airplane at LaGuardia I picked my bag off the carousel.
Few minutes later a HAL rep greeted me and a half hour later climbed aboard a van bound for Manhattan pier 91. The driver did an impassioned monologue on his ...
