First time departure from New Orleans. Arrived two days early and enjoyed the City and French Quarter. Boarding was quick and smooth. Departure was changed from 5 pm to 10 pm which allowed everyone on board to enjoy fireworks along the Riverfront area. We were notified that casino was under renovations prior to cruise and received $100 on-board credit for inconvenience during the first 7 days. ...
This was our first cruise. We left out of NO on April 7, 2012 for 7 night Western Caribbean cruise. Sailed on Voyager of the Seas. Our embarkation was very smooth. We were sitting by the pool by 12:00. We did not get our luggage before dinner but we had packed our carryons accordingly. So much easier than boarding a plane. We were very impressed with RCI.
Visited Falmouth, Jamaica; Grand Cayman ...
Voyager's spring 2012 TA crossing was blessed by mostly good, if cool, weather. Lack of entertaining or informative lectures and few quality daytime activities were a disappointment. For example: Dance instruction by staff decidedly subpar compared to fall Mariner TA. "Workshop" scrapbooking with minimally trained staff waste of time.
We did feel insulted by the condition of the ship: We ...
We thoroughly enjoyed our cruise on the Voyager's Transatlantic. The ship is repositioning itself to cruise in Asia and continued after our transatlantic cruise to cruise through the Suez and on to Dubai, India and Singapore.
The ship was undergoing some renovation to the casino during the first 8 days, which was a negative for some on board, but to compensate, all passengers received a ...
This was our first cruise ever. I have been trying to convince my wife to cruise for over a decade. She does not like closed spaces. So I paid extra to get the Grand Suite. We were definitely spoiled. We actually were the first people on the ship.
I have 2 boys and I never have seen them so excited. I do suggest bringing Walkie talkies. They loved all the activities and the camps. What a ...
We had a very easy drive to New Orleans, but found it a bit tricky getting around the city. We stayed at the Ramada Inn in Metairie, which we would suggest. It was a very clean and pretty hotel. The rates were much better than staying in New Orleans.
We arrived at the dock around 10:30 and got right to the check in station. This would have been an even easier process if our travel agent ...
We are a 39 year old couple cruising with our 5 year old daughter. This is our 6th cruise on RC, and we have cruised 3 times on Carnival and once on Holland America. We flew into NOLA late Thursday night, and had a very nice stay at Days Inn N.O. Airport, then moved to the French Quarter to stay Friday night at Ursuline Guest House. It was conveniently located to all the sites, but not a very ...
First -- a little background. This is our 14th cruise. Our 3rd with RCI and our 2nd on a Voyager class ship. There were nine people in our group -- all seasoned cruisers with the exception of the youngest, who was on his 2nd cruise. Also want to say "Thanks" to everyone who contributes to the boards, and writes reviews on Cruise Critic. A lot of very valuable information is on there.
We were a ...
We just returned from seven-day Caribbean cruise on Royal Caribbean's Voyager of the Seas. My wife and I (ages 65) took my daughter, her husband and our three grandsons -- ages 14, 12 and 10 on this cruise that left from New Orleans on March 31, 2012.
We chose this cruise because we could drive to New Orleans rather than fly seven people to New Orleans. We had three staterooms -- two balcony ...
We had fourteen members of our family going on this cruise, we all live in the northern part of Mississippi so we drove to New Orleans on the morning of embarkation. We arrived at the port around 11:30, checked in and all on board by 12:30. Very smooth embarkation. Good Job Royal Carribean!!
My family had 2 cabins (7294 and 7295), one balcony and one inside room overlooking the promenade. The ...
