A huge and expensive disappointment

We took a Mississippi River cruise on American Cruise Lines Oct. 3-10. It definately had the price tag of a luxury cruise but unfortunately fell very short. The worst thing was there was Legionella in the water (employees said this was a known issue prior to our departure). We were a group of 11, 8 of us got sick. There was also dreadful mold in the showers which we asked to have cleaned. The ...

I was on the American Jazz from Nashville to Memphis from July 9-July 17. This cruise has been disappointing from day one. My wife and I took the precruise package and stayed at the Marriott with tickets for the Grand Ole Oprey. We were supposed to meet in the lobby at 5:00 for hor d’erves and cocktails. There was none. When we arrived at the lobby we were rushed onto the bus only to sit and wait ...

Having very little knowledge of the South and never having been on a river cruise, I fell for the slick promos American Cruise lines produced, where. Five star cruise was promised . Ha! The suite was nice (new ship) but the food was mundane at best , inedible at times and often not what was described on the menu.. I compare the caviar , lobster and filet on Sea Dream to the meatloaf , raw ...

Boring and careless

This was a very dull and boring cruise. The ship was fairly new so staterooms were nice and food was excellent but the staff failed to responsibly handle my bag and I never received it during my cruise. It disappeared on a two block bus shuttle to the dock so I believe someone handling it stole it. I wasn’t able to keep my bag with me for the ride to the dock so it was my carryon containing ...

Would never do again

Review for a U.S.A. Cruise on American Splendor (formerly America)

This cruise had been on our bucket list for the last couple of years. My husband and I with another couple had done European river cruises and thought that this would be similar. No way can ACL be compared with them. They may both be small boats as far as passengers but that is where the comparison stops. On this cruise the excursions were large bus trips where you stop only at highway rest ...
